You sold a pair of Jades for 20 million? You, sir, are an epic salesman. Most people treat them as vendor trash.
I'm actually pretty happy with codes being so expensive. They're something people can pour money into but don't have to pour money into to be combat viable. In other words, you only have to trade up x credits to get a well-equipped snubcraft, but there's something for you to trade more for- and more trading => more pirates => more lawfolk => more revolutionaries => more encounters => more RP.

That is true.
But remember, if you're looting the wrecks, you are making a **** load aswell.
I'm obviously missing something cause I thought I'd try my luck with a much lesser codie wreck cause I'm occasionally on when the server boots, and even when I keep refreshing the server list and connect IMMEDIATELY when it comes up, there's always some other dude there and already has the stuff and setting to cruise away!
How do people connect so fast?!
Patience is something you admire in the car behind you, but not in the one in front.

That's the world of Discovery that you play, ay ay.

You can pickup codenames from wrecks with the same ship, just not twice within 1 instance of the server being up. This is one of the reasons that server restarts happen.

They don't.
They go near a wreck and disconnect while in space (when nobody can see it). After the restart, they log on the camping char, appear near the wreck out of nowhere. And if a wreck is far enough from a nearest base they can F1-out and vanish before anyone can harm them. Hate them.
But. When you see a e.g. Zoner cruiser appear out of nowhere and suggesting you give him those codies, you can piss your pants in-RP :-)
There also might be a case where someone just undocks a bit faster, turns his craft into right direction a bit faster, engages cruise engine a bit faster and voila - he is 3-4 seconds before you. It is fun when two crafts are cruising heading for the same wreck close o each other. More race-like than racing through gates.:)
By the way. Since CDing is not an attack, have a friend who undocks at the same time and CD the other wreck-looters undocking from the same base (so you don't need to waste time for it).
But you know what? Wreck hunting is a waste of time compared to trading/mining. Unless you got a char near every wreck in game and can magically detect server crashes. ;-D
