This thread is So Simple and So Repetitive that even the Single Line Title says it all, but the point is, Its not getting any better. Its just getting worst.
We are on a Better Server now, that supports more NPCs without causing Lags. That is a good thing, but main question is, Should we allow MORE NPCs just because Server lets us to? NPCs were already causing trouble before all these changes, but At Least Back then you could go and RP in Hostile Space without NPCs ruining it all, when Server was half full. Now, look at This. Server is Full and I have 9 NPCs hammering my ass while I try to RP and fight, that means even if everyone just sit and watch, I'll die after 5 mins - Because even 9 Ships with Class 5 Guns have enough firepower to blast a Bomber in matter of minutes - Not to mention when they have Death Hands and Debs.)
@ Cannon: You want more NPCs? All good with me, but before increasing their numbers, write a new command to get rid of them when needed. This way, We'll have more NPCs, but when they are ruining everything because they are not controllable, we can just get rid of them with a simple command.
Like, the player with Order ID types /EFF-NPCs and all the Order NPCs disappear.
That way, these nice pretty Bots that can take a class 10 shield out in Less than 2 seconds, wont ruin all the fun for the Actual Players who are trying to RP or PvP in Hostile space.
Even 3 NPCs with Class 3 Guns, hitting your hull 8 times a second makes it impossible to aim, cause the whole screen whould shake like crazy. It's not just about "zomg npcs killed me! Q_Q" Its about "Why should NPCs be there when they do No Good, and just ruin everything for everyone? Or at the very least, just annoy everyone?"
Even if we remove all Guns from NPC Ship, still 9 NPCs is one hell of a Ram-fest, which makes fighting impossible. So, the point is not their Number or Firepower, the point is either getting rid of them completely, or finding a way to control them.

For the most part, this cannot be done w/o changes to the systems in FLExplorer and .ini editing. Unless I'm mistaken, then throw this out, but you can change levels, frequency, and occurrence rate by system editing, but not by an FLHook endeavor or server-side mods.
Personally I think NPC's should only spawn in close proximity to bases owned by their faction, with the exception of guard systems. I also think cruise disruptors should be removed from all non-guard NPC's.

No. NPCs help immersion and they shouldn't just be pathetic starfleas with justice mk 1's like they are in NY. NPC distribution should be more even, that means, mixed level squads. For example - BHG fighter squad consists of 2 VHFs, 3 HFs and 5 LFs in their most frequently active systems.

I believe just this One Single Reason is enough to make them "Bad". I had this problem when I first undocked from Erie on my First day on Server, decided to go to New York, and Rogue NPCs blasted my Starflea out to the Sky in the Badlands. I had this problem when I was trading in my Gull and Hessian NPCs would blast my ship in matter of seconds because they were just... Red! I still had this ship when I was part of ]bd[ and used to RP in Kusari, the Dessie patrols spawning every 20 secs are not really nice. I had this problem when I flied my Hessian around Rheinland. even the military Valkies are a pain. I still have this problem when I trade, NPCs kick me out of the lane every 2 mins. They cant kill me, but they still annoy me. I still have this problem when I'm on my Hunter in Delta. If I sit still for 2 secs, I'm a Dead piece of scrap. I still have this problem on my Corsair when I try to go anywhere outside Crete Orbit. I still have this problem when I'm on Saerieve, and nearly everything is shootin' at me. I don't mind any of these, I can type fast enough, I can dodge good enough, I don't even mind turning into a Blue message. But even with all these, Trying to RP or PvP against an already uneven numbers, while you Also have 12 NPCs railing you up is just.......... Stupid!
im pretty much a full time BPA officer on this server. i have to say that enforcing the Leeds embargo in a Hussar when you have 8 chimeara's TOTALLY raping you is impossible.
not only is it impossible to stop blockade Runners, its also impossible to Role Play with anybody nearby unless you dock on the Planet or the Battlship Derby and use system chat, which is annoying.
yea I understand Leeds is "under siege" but do the NPC's really need to be this numerous as well as this frequent?
what makes it worse is trying to kill 1 of those chimeara's in a hussar is a very long and arduous task with nothing to gain at the end
NPCs are not really fond of trading in Gallia. It used to be you could still do it when the server load was higher... but if you got 8 SNAC-spamming bombers on you before...
Everything else I don't mind so much, but NPCs in Gallia can swing an easy fight for one side into an utter massacre for the other. Particularly in cap battles, which is why we always hold them above Planet Tonnerre where there AREN'T NPCs. Every event there ever has been done off the map so we don't get NPCs.
