if NPCs only spawned near their bases that'd make things like BHG and priate patrols REALLY rare in some places.

Better yet, patrol paths could be tweaked some.

I'm more concerned about the sheer annoyance of having a swarm of Barracudas shooting and flipping the Metropolis while I'm in the middle of an important RP.

well keeping NPCs away from stations is one thing, however said NPCs should be from the owning faction, or allied factions.

That'd prevent the issues, cause I dont think NPCs scan when you're green to them.

I have an LN Guard Guardian that I fly on. It's my [LN].

I get scanned by LN NPCs on it. I am full green to them. They tell me to drop allied pilots.

WHAT.

The same with pirat pilots and Bounty Hunter.

You are a Military or Police and then is a Hunter comming and want all your prisoner???

If you dont do it maybe the rest of the whole world want your head (NPC Bs patrols etc.)

Hostile space without hostile NPCs is not hostile.
I like NPCs but it doesn't mean, that I don't think they should be revised in all systems.

It's getting a bit ridiculous. If NPCs are supposed to represent everyone else in Sirius, then there's an awful lot of criminals in this galaxy. Something to the tune of 50% good guys and 50% bad guys. The other day trader got lane disrupted three times.. in the same system! You see these constant battles between NPCs to the point where it looks like a constant warzone.

Put in transports, and their escorts sure. Put in the occasional patrols of both lawfuls and unlawfuls, sure. But to the point where going through a system is a chore, and emerging from a jump hole means you get ambushed by 8 Hunters/Outcast/Corsairs/whatever on the other side every time is not realistic.

Barracudas swarm in Magellan, even in the open space 40K from the Freeport.

Well TBH open space isnt as much of an issue.

But if nothing else, Freeports need to have patrols that scan cargo nixed due to the NFZs if nothing else.

Or better yet, totaly re-work the way NPCs scan cargo.
