Yesterday night was interesting. Had two Phantoms in Gallia. Lead us on a chase then, once engaged in combat, using the npc's almost managed to take down one of our Cruisers. Kudos for that, was fun:)
Now obviously one bad experience cannot speak for the whole group, but I am interested in finding an explanation for another random phantom attack outside one of the most heavily traveled routes in Kusari, the Honshu-NT jumpgate.
What the hell would a single phantom ship be doing there alone?
It would be identified by the police/military and either eliminated or chased away back to its home being in such a high traffic area.
Moreover, I've seen more RP before engagement from LN Indy Gunboats in Liberty, one fancy line of conversation that basically means the same as "do xxx or pay xxx or die" doesn't cut it in my opinion.
Granted, I'm just an independent player who doesn't log huge forum time or join clans, so my voice is already faint, but hear me out.
Why should a super group of almighty beings be able to do whatever the hell they want?
If I were a rookie player, trying to work my way up, just understanding the rules, and all of a sudden a super phantom comes out of nowhere and kills me, I would begin to doubt the rules myself. I believe it sets a wretched example unless the said phantoms travel in groups with substantial RP behind it.
This is not the first time I've been ambushed by a single phantom, and it is something I wish to rectify.
The phantoms add a dynamic twist to the game, but as a corsair titan wouldn't wander into Omicron Alpha alone, phantoms shouldn't raid houses alone.
There are only a handful of Phantoms, and not all of us are in the same time zones. I'm the only ANZLAG Phantom and I work 55 hours a week. I'm either asleep or at work when all the other Phantoms are online 90% of the time.
So I pretty much always fly my Phantom by myself. When I do actually fly it. No, I wasn't the Phantom involved in the incident you're refering to. But you'd probably need to give a little more information to help us understand exactly what happened in this situation before any inquerys can be made.
Also, when I joined the Phantoms I was told by Virus we weren't allowed to go to House Capital Systems unless travelling through. I think the newer generation of Phantoms missed out on that little lecture.
Unrelated. Maybe you should answer people whose applications were rejected, helping them out with whatever got them rejected. Just a thought (Yes, I have an interest in this.) If it is too time-consuming, then maybe not.

What more information would you like? Im trying not to call out the person that did this, but I do have an SS and video of the scene.
Or, if you trust my word, I can give you a recount of what happened

Phantom encounters are by nature random events with little precursor. Meet one or three, it doesn't really matter. They're well-trained at evasion of House military/police as well as destruction and terrorism. Yeah one engagement line probably isn't enough, but think about what you did? Did you just keep moving towards the gate, or did you stop? I highly doubt you'd be blown away if you stopped. Traders moving toward gates, however, tend to make anyone's trigger finger get itchy. And the thing about playing a Phantom is that you can let it get itchy. Also, I'm tired of people saying we need "substantial RP". Our RP is killing stuff. Is it the best or highest form of roleplay? Maybe not. Do we give paragraphs of talking before shooting? Not always, not usually. Doesn't really matter, that would be rather OORP to do for a Phantom in most instances. You have to see past some preconceptions of RP and put yourself in the shoes of the other guy before you start judging. Basically, if you want a novella of RP; don't expect it from Phantoms, unless you're willing to put out some awesome "RP" (as defined by everyone else: a novel) of your own.

No applications were rejected. All apps are open to future acceptance. They are accepted when we choose to accept.
Note: this is all my opinion as a player and normal (not high-ranked) Phantom, so it may not be 100% correct. Don't kill me if I'm wrong anywhere in this post.

Having watched the video, I see absolutely nothing wrong with this.
A) He was in Honshu, even with your attempt to make it seem he was in New Tokyo, thats not the case.
B) The Phantom asked you to stop, you continued to try and dock with the jump gate.
C) It wasn't until all routes of escape were cut off that you decided you wanted to talk.
D) You were giving a many lines of RP before you were killed.
This seems to be one of these cases were you want everything to go the way you want with RP. You tried to escape, you failed, at that point you started talking, trying to get out of it. But unfortunately for you, you either work for Samura, or Kishiro. The Phantom you ran into has a grudge against Kusari, add that with the fact that you tried to flee, the odds that you were getting away were pretty much nil. Then you started firing on the Phantom, which I understand, but at that point, the guns had taken over, and you were going to die. That is role play.
Now to address a couple of other things. You made a motion to the a part of the Phantom ID in the video. The part that says the Phantoms can make RP demands. You ignored the sentence before that, which says the Phantoms may attack lawfuls and unlawfuls at will. The part about demands is not a requirement, it is so that we dont have to kill everyone we come across, we can choose to make a demand now instead. It does not mean we have to, and we rarely do it for people who try to flee.
The second thing you seemed to want to point out in the video was that the ship he was flying was a Wasupu, which is a civilian ship and 100% within the rules for a Phantom to fly.
The previous thread you made was locked because it was a trial by forum, yes it was, and this is our feedback thread, so I have politely addressed your concerns, but I have to tell you, there was nothing wrong with this encounter. Sometimes you die, sometimes there is nothing you can do to stop it. Just like real life, that is Discovery Role Play.

A) When did i try to say he was in NT?
B) When in the video did the phantom ask me to stop?
C) We were talking before the guns started going.
So you bascially twist everything in the video around in order to defend your precious clan, and make me look like a moron.
What I would like to see is the phantom that actually did this come out of the shadows (no pun intended) and give his first hand account of the situation.
You were obviously too blind to notice that the video only covered the second half of the attack, as the video started once my shields were drained.
The SS covers every line of conversation, tell me that "do something to abate my rage" doesnt translate into "guess what you have to do. wrong! boom boom splat"
Tone down the good 'ol fashioned flamey nastyness in your posts or I'll tone it down for you.
Smile smile.
This discussion seems to have something more to do with an individual pilot, a discussion based upon evidence which isn't going to be released. This discussion feels like something that would be better served as a sanction report if it's believed any rules have been broken.
Primarily because it seems to be a sour grapes lamentation post, which is generally no bueno.
Figure out what you're trying to communicate, make it concice. If what you're trying to say is "I don't think this ship should be here and I -really- don't think it should have blown me up" chances are high that your future in this thread is going to be extraordinarily short.
