Well, to defend myself, you have no right to get upset at my F1ing due to your atrocious behavior. I politely asked you to hold on, and said I would be afk for a minute because I was having a problem with freelancer (all my weapongroups got cleared out). I stopped and was attempting to fix it, assuming the people chasing me would stop momentarily. They immediately engaged (and I did not fire any kind of shots at them, nor turn to face them. I did not move at all.), and I attempted to flee (at the same time saying what are you doing, I said hold on.). Of course, I got cruise disrupted.
I believe that behavior to be disgusting, and not allowable, so I tend to think I did the right thing by deciding to leave the fight promptly. Purposely attacking someone who states they are not able to fight at that moment, and is willing to fight if the people would give them one second, seems completely wrong to me. Perhaps that is not against the rules directly; however, I believe maturity comes into play.
At least, if you do not want to wait, just tell me to leave and I will. But attacking someone who is afk just to get a free kill is wrong. Dead wrong.
Really, appauling behavior in my opinion.
If I am still in the wrong, despite all this, I sincerely apologize.
BUT!! when you are fighting.....you say to your enemy..my gun is reloading..don't shoot!! and your enemy will listen to you and wait?.....any how...you F1 in PvP is wrong..don't find a reson to defence your self..

Well, all the sanctions applied to all F1ers reported from today+ will be based on what we decide on the current discussion.
So, for those who F1ed and think they escaped punishment, think it twice and don't surprise if you find one less character next time you log in.
My current criteria is simple:
F1ers = cheaters.
Delete, Ban, Reset, Destroy!!
I agree With Korrd, its a bad pratice and we need to stamp on it now, Trust me i look forward to the time when the Admins decide what we do with them, if it was just my choice i would ban them to the temple hated by all, No bats No bots and you better believe NO Shields:)

Man, the problem is lately traders take that one moment to scan the pirate ship or sent out SOS's. If your computer glitches out, tough luck. Pay the man for not checking your setup while they showed up on your scope 10 k away. Remember this is RP and pirates have to use a hit and run tactic cause they only got the element of surprise on their side. Remember, a polite pirate isa dead pirate. Also hire us mercs, once in a while. We are there to help you traders just in these kind of scenarios.

That is a really lame excuse...
As lancer-x said, the enemy does not stop attacking you when you have to reload a weapon.
I've lost a few fights because my weapon groups screwing up. I've learned to check that those are ok before engaging. Also, unless they attack you right after you jump in, you had 14k to check that everything was ready to fight them, or to avoid them.
If you are not ready to fight, you could hire excorts so they can protect you instead of being all too greedy to avoid expending a few bucks on some help...
And if you are not ready to RP, then log off. This is the Discovery RP 24/7 Server, not the "I RP when im feeling like it" server.
If a trader does not responds, wait 7 seconds and then kill it. You have 13 seconds to destroy it before the ship disappears. Say something like "STOP. Give me 3 mill or i'll kill you. You have 5 seconds" If they doesn't hit trade request, blow him up. That's what i would do.

If a trader is moving when he F1's, the reticule screws up and the person accelerates to a lot faster speed than cruise. Its pretty hard to destroy a trader when for about three of the 13 seconds left after waiting that you cant hit them. They don't just stop when they F1.
And yes, weapon groups is a really bad excuse. Time and again i forget mine especially in my bomber, but I do the groups while I fight. Its not that hard, and thats a poor excuse for F1ing. And as they say, of course you shoot someone when they reload. Thats the whole point of saving your bullets in a firefight.
Well, I was not in a trader... I was in a battlecruiser. So it had nothing to do with money.
Second of all, he (blue_beard[TBH] at the moment) was camping the place I was docked at, so I had no chance to set up my weapons, I came out of the dock and noticied my weapons were messed up completely, so i cruised a few KM away and said "Hold on. I have to fix my config first, then I'll fight. Give me a minute." OOC tagged, of course. He then called in backup, as I saw Spirit_Evil on his way (earlier they were dock camping me with 3 people. Two of them left into another system.). Both of them headed for me and began shooting. I did not defend myself at all. I was sitting there, not firing a single shot, telling them to give me a darn minute.
I've been destroyed as a trader plenty of times, and I don't really care about losing a trade run or two. But I was in a battlecruiser, where the fight is everything, and this fight was completely wrong.
Sorry I didn't mention I was in a battlecruiser, and some of the other facts. Hard to mention every single thing.
