You can be honest at this channel with all of us. Freeport Five is located in quite specific place. It's unable to protect itself. Freeport Five produces a specific state of mind. In other words, it looks like you have already sold yourself to Corsair Empire. I'm not blaming you for that.
But don't tell us that Freeport Five is Free. Don't hide politics behind idealism. It makes as much sense as a head of a single Corsair can contain.

I am sorry, but if Freeport 5 was to sell itself out, it would have revoked docking rights for the Hessians, Bounty Hunters, Freeport 9 Zoners, Outcasts and other assorted odds and ends the Corsairs dislike. As it happens, all of the afore mentioned factions are still able to land, should they so wish it.
The Corsairs begun this debacle by viewing all Zoners as one and the same. Sephardi has said this much in his public transmissions. Yet, somehow, magically... Freeport 5 is exempted from the coming storm? What is this? How? This cannot be right! Those abominations living on '5 actually negotiated with all the local factions and came to a compromise that alleviated many of the tensions? No! That cannot be right! It isn't the Omicroner way unless we lace our transmissions with sarcasm, satire and aggravation! Irony aside, my point is, they managed to make this situation work. The Corsairs are not dictating who docks there, they are not brandishing weapons and pitchforks. There is not a Corsair sat at the desk in Station Control.
Pragmatism is not selling out. Being a conscientious objector is not selling out. Refusing to condemn the people you represent to death or discomfort is not selling out. To be brutally honest, killing your own brothers and sisters, or crippling their way of life is selling out. So, next time the party/parties that flared this situation begins to point fingers about a lack of cohesion, I'll be sure to point a few things out.
Who was it who bombed Freeport 9 as a 'scorched earth' policy, without consulting the residents? Who was it who reignited this whole situation when things were dying down? And the latest point - who was it who placed a death sentence on the head of a Zoner company for disagreeing with a pointless and self-destructive war?
Station Hall aboard Freeport 10 has come to the decision that we will continue to ship humanitarian supplies to your base. Oxygen, water, food - should your biodomes still need time to re-establish themselves. But do not expect military aid. We don't have any to give, and even if we did, we wouldn't. If you want to set Sirius' hitmen on me too, my ship's transponder is in the message header. I've said my piece, and you wont intimidate me into changing my mind.
Gentlemen, do not attempt to seize the moral high-ground. You'll find it too slippery to hold.

Throwing the Corsairs off your station makes perfect sense when they are engaged in war against you. Throwing them off after hostilities have dropped down is... Well, I don't understand it. Simply allowing the situation to level off and fade away would have done Omicron Theta a world of good. Banning the Corsair organised militias from accessing your station is as good as declaring war. What means relatively little to you can mean a lot to the people it's aimed at.
Before your announcement, the Corsairs were still beating their chests and making a lot of noise, but from what I saw, very little of essence was actually happening. Save Sheperdi's ominous mutterings, the Elders had remained silent. This is a matter of timing. What would have once been right is now merely misplaced pride and stubbornness. Lets hope those characteristics haven't cost the Zoners of '9 anything more than some credits and time.
To: Open channel Title: High Five to Freeport Ten as well.
Body: Howard, don't forget who Zoners in Theta are dealing with.
Corsairs are a political hydra - one head is acting one way, the other head scratches all the decision of another. We already ran into a pleasant state when one Elder drinks tea at Freeport and another orders his glourious warriors to give Core terrorists a hand in assaulting Freeport. And do you find all that happened between Zoners and Corsairs illogical? I don't.
Well, let's step from my opinion about Corsair politics to my seized moral grounds I pretty much like to stay upon. Maybe you are more zonerish then me, maybe you are a pure-blooded one and I am not. I'm just an officer of now unexistant organisation, but guess what - for all the time I was in Defence Force I was in a place where I should be. When any Zoners needed protection, we were right there. We were somehow a vital addition to complicated politics needed to let the others live peacefully, we always followed other's decisions to let those others feel themselves much more safe, to let them show their importance and achieve their goals. We were in Delta to protect all of us from K'Hara or K'Core, in Taus to stop Phantom agression, in Baffin we did our best to realize TAZ political moves on practice. And when Corsair agression started many of my friends have been killed for being on duty.
While you were talking about ideas of neutrality, we did our best to make that neutrality real. So tell me, who is giving Corsairs a green light to kill more of us with this implimention of "divide yourself and be ruled" policy?
To: Yevan Pushkin personally Title: Hold your ground.
Be ready for even bigger storm then before. The ships I sent will set a defence grid around Theta jumphole. I also will send more transports with food, basic goods and weapons to the station. Take care.

Well since HQ sent me here as an advance scout and essentially a spy for the zoner benefit - I hope nobody will flay me for throwing in an opinion from a new arrival's perspective.
The way briefings picture the whole situation, it looks like a bit of hubris combined with the timely and cruel action by one certain individual triggered a massive and multi-directional assault on Zoner installations. This led to the loss of FP9's biodomes. Now the intel doesn't say how they managed to blow them up considering just about every space station is near-indestructable, but to me it does seem like almost-intentional or sabotage. The funny part is - one would assume, that after that bit of humility tutoring, the onslaught would come to a close, but from this conference's very existence I can see that it's not the case... Whatever the HQ's intentions are, they'll be assigning some firepower to this region of space. Purpose unknown, but if just to fight the corsairs openly - then I couldn't come up with a better manner of suicide myself.
Now while I understand the outburst of emotion, pointing fingers, throwing blame around... How is that helpful? You came under attack. calculated and ruthless. To a great deal of you, war is novelty, but not for me. And just about everything is preferable to war and disunity. Divided we fall, right? And only those understand the recent freeport closure measures who want to understand. I most sincerely warn you against escalating this any further lest those who wish you ill receive more and more "proof" of your inherent hostility and arrogance. This war won't be won by soldiers, but by journalists.
' Wrote:I just feel the need...the need for speed??? No, that wasnt it... I feel the need to make clear.... clear? Whats that? wait, clear, what was I doing? Oh yea, I feel the need to make something clear, that this group of Zoners speaking here *cough cough cough* what? Oh yea, This group of Zoners here, advocating violence and war, they dont... what was it they dont do? Oh right, they dont speak for me. Aint no peace of metal around, aint no piece of ground thats worth going to war for, aint no place worth killing an maiming for. *Cough cough* where was I? Right... When things get hot, I just go a little farther down the road, a few step further into the wind, thats how I keep my freedom and saftey assured. Now, I aint telling yous...whats wasnt I telling yous? Yea... I aint telling yous not to do your own thing, I am just reminding you that you dont speak for me, seems from the other comms, you dont speak for some other zoners either. I just want to do mah thing, I dont want anyone preachin to me or ordering me or telling me what to do, dont matter if its a house policemen or a zoner, aint no one speaking for me, aint no one telling me what to do but mah self. So you go and get more violenteers for your war, but count me out, and dont try to make me feel bad about it, cause that would just mean you folk have totally lost connection with what it means to be a zoner.

' Wrote:Nice to be remembered I guess...or something like that, point is, Freeport 10 can do what it wants, Freeport 9 can do what it wants, dont mean I got to hope on the bandwagon. When you try to paint all us zoners with one brush, you never get a pretty picture, same thing happens, doesnt matter if you are a house trying to lump all us together or other zoners trying to do it, it just comes out looking like finger painting.....ohhhh finger painting.
' Wrote:Ah, so what the gentleman said earlier is true, this is not a discussion of ideas, or a confrence call for zoners to make thier voice heard, this is a set of marching orders, only for people who support you. I think if thats the case, you aught to just change that heading on the transmission, it should read "To: All zoner violenteers, others should not speak."
Either way, this way or that, you can do whatever the hell you want, just dont assume this is the voice of all zoners.
I do find it interesting how quickly you jump to insulting me when other arguments fail you....sad what things have come to, cant even be a pacifist among zoners anymore.
Now I think I will just be on mah way alittle further down the road away from you folk.
' Wrote:No you wont see me flying into a fight to protect someone or fight for your zoner ideals, you want to know why? I am a pacifist, thats my zoner ideal, and it used to be allowed to think differently among the zoners, guess thats not the case no more.
You should know better than anyone, I emerge when there needs to be someone who speaks for the pacifistic ideals of some zoners, it doesnt matter if it's Corsairs, Outcasts, Bounty Hunters, or Unionist. I have always spoke out for finding peaceful ways of dealing with people. I cant point you to all my communications arguing with people, because I just dont do that as well as you folk, I live my life, I was staying with Mal in Baffin for a long time, then there was this lady commodore in Liberty who caught my fancy, anyway, just cause I dont run around opening comms with people to yell about this nonsense and that nonsense dont mean I aint round about.
So good to know that I am right having nothin to do with yous all, when you dont welcome other zoners ideas and contributions, you aint no zoner I want to have anything to do with.
' Wrote:Awesome, give me an impossible task, with impossible rigidity and then claim my failure and your successors. I choose to not play your game, I have said what I came here to say, which is you dont speak for me, I dont want war. I am done with your attacks and fallacies at this point, I am off to smoke a joint. Have fun storming the castle.
I have interacted with your being before, back when the Council of Zoners existed. Logically, I must conclude, that your intelligence has not increased. I also realise that my vocabulary does not appropriately address the fact that something has to be there in the first place, before it can increase or decrease.
Our planet has the equipment and the frequencies to receive this, and whilst I am unaffected by the decision of Zoners in Freeport 9, I must admit a sort of attachment to the Zoners as a whole. I was one once, and I think I still am, somewhat in terms of a programmed essence if you will.
Your message here is of a spiteful nature, yet you advocate for peace. Yet you are unwilling to help achieve it, but instead condemn those who tried. This is hypocritical.
You have also stated you are unaffected by the actions taken here.
One must wonder why you chose to transmit then.
As such, the conclusion reached is that you are either hoping to create internal rifts in the Zoner populace through ignorance of the facts and things as they are, or that you are a former Zoner, sold out to an enemy for self-preservation, or the belief of some material benefit.
I believe that is all that needs saying.
Zoners, be at peace. Adapt. Survive. Prosper. You will do well, I am sure.
This is the part where the message ends.

I'm at a loss as to what to say at this point. I have immersed myself in my love of medicine and will continue it but when I see all of this fighting going on, it concerns me.
Now, I don't want people to see me as a traitor for what I am going to do. But to me, if it saves even one life, it's worth it. Enough have died already.
I still have some respect amongst Corsair Elders. I will make an attempt to speak with them. I won't speak on behalf of all as I don't have that right but perhaps I can start getting some sense back to things. We got through the QCP ordeal and we will get through this too as a people.
