Quote:I wonder.
If, for example, a trade convoy is going from Tau-23 to New Berlin, and gets attacked in, say, Tau-23... does it apply for their return?
Say a bomber decides to pirate that convoy, and convoy escort (1 VHF) stays to slow him down while the Transport is running.
But this VHF escort is required to catch up with the convoy, so he leaves the bomber and goes to New Berlin.
He never even lost a nanobot, and still he can't come back to Tau-23 on his way back, right?
If that is so, that sucks.
He defended the Transport, that's the only reason he fought the pirate, and he has to stay and kill it or else he's considered fleeing.
Quote:5.6 Fleeing in combat counts as a PVP death . Fleeing is:
a) Docking with a jump gate, station or tradelane;
b) Moving more than 10km from the fight.
Vessels acting as escorts for trade ships are exempt from this rules for purposes of:
a) Catching up to their transport. I.E. breaking off an attack to rejoin their charge.
b) Re-entering a system which had previously been exited.
Hmm. i think the only exception is if the trader you are escorting was not hit, you can still return to the system. otherwise pirates could just engage the escorts, and then the trader loses the escort they have paid for
I think both Trader and his escort should be able to come back, regardless if they were hit or not.
Because, traders main weapon is to flee, actually, and if he manages to do so he should not be 'counted' as dead.
