I actually first played it when I borrowd a couple of games from my neighbor - one of them was Freelancer.

He played it for only about the first few minutes and never even got into space, so he told me it's a point and click detective game. You could imagine my amazement when I hit the "launch" to space and saw Manhattan out of orbit:P

That was a long time ago, in about 2004, methinks.

As for Discovery, I simply got bored with SP when I played it again in 2009 and searched for a couple od Mods, with Discovery having the most appealing map, story and server load for me, as well as being an RP server

I once was looking at a live broadcast of Fallout 3 on Xfire. multiple, but I ran into a guy that also played freelancer, named Rayner. he always talked about how fun it was to get banned on this freelancer server, which was at a time I didn't even know it was possible to play FL online. he didn't just got me here, but also in FL online. blame him for bringing me here:)

I was caught by game's freedom when I first saw a friend of mine playing it. I think it was in 2004.

I was searching Microsoft Game Studios for multiplayer game demos for a LAN party.

Rest is history.

First there was Starlancer. Nothing but Starlancer for 8 hours a day. Eventually, after killing Admiral Kulov for the 200th time, the novelty wore off. Then, sometimes in 2002, I saw a short article about a game called Freelancer in my fave game mag. A trial version was soon included on one of it's cds. After exploring every part of the NY system, I desperately wanted more. Then I saw it installed on a friend's pc, so I got a copy. I played fiercely, but I couldn't beat Hovis in a bret HF. So the game stood still. After a year or so, I realized I can use a LF, and it was suddenly too easy. After finishing it several times, I found Lancersreactor. A whole new experience. Up until this time, I played SP exclusively. Then I got internet connection, and was eager to try MP. After a profound search, I ended up with crossfire, but it was kinda meh. Some time later, I stumbled upon disco. And here I am.
