Hovered around Philadelphia station for a while, until a player mentioned in system chat that he was looking for Junker bribes. I offered to hop on my Congressman and do a few missions for him-- still on a recruit id in a camera ship, couldn't help him much with my angel.
He asked a few questions about joining the congress, gave him some info and directed him to their website.
Felt like I haven't been on my Angel in a while, so pulled a short shift. Helped more than a few peoples, all asking about permissions, and factions, ID's and so on.
Logged to help out Calum (who was getting overloaded) and immediately got bombarded with questions.
One guy wanted to learn how to mine helium.
I caught another flying a BH ship with a freelancer ID, and told him he had to get permission for that.
Another guy wanted to know if he could start a weapon shop with a Mastodon without SRP.
Someone was sanctioned a week ago (all the ships on one of his accountsare in bastille with sanction notices in their holds), and there was no sanction notice posted.
A few questions about ooRP chat, had a couple guys take theirs to private from system, etc etc.
A Junker was wondering about the systems included in Bretonian space, because he wanted to know where he could pirate. I directed him to the wiki, and told him to search for "Bretonia" and look at the "Controlled space" on the right.
Another guy reinstalled FL and lost his account. I directed him to FAM and told him to ask the admins for character recovery, and gave him the website.
To get myself re-orientated with discovery after my absence due to computer issues, I decided to pull a 4-5 hour shift tonight.
Explained how code weapons worked, and how to aqquire them to two people.
Explained to a jailed player what he had done wrong and directed him to his forum sanction thread.
Escorted an ID'less player to a base where he could buy a new one.
Explained to a player which factions could use his particular ship of choice.
Taught a player how mining bonuses worked and which setups were best suited for his favoured mining spots as well as telling him of a few he may wish to try.
Assisted a new player in getting a new transport to replace his dromedary, explained to him some of the rules of disco and described the roles of various factions around sirius. Once he has gotten used to his new ship I will be assisting him in finding a suitable faction to join if he wishes it.
And finally, diffused an argument between a trader and pirate about wether or not the pirate was permitted to demand credits from the trader.
I would have stayed on longer, but it is 5 AM here, so I have decided it would be wise to go to sleep. :D
Sion: Why is there a sirius credit card at the shrine?
Aiolos: Um... Nomads like shopping?
Keepers.Telchine: "Excuse me sir, you're a Nom and I must destroy you" "***...-Accept-...'this'...***" "OMG! Welcome back, Mr. Nomson, make yourself at home!"
Camtheman Of Freelancer4Ever: We would fully be going to communism if we gave those nasty factionites the control of the BS's.
Kazinsal: No. We'd be going full communism if everyone had a BS for free, to simplify it. And each BS would be shared. Stick that in your solaris turret, Cam.
Dodike: No, there would be only one battleship for all of us to share
Kazinsal: In soviet Russia, battleship share you!

Was a busy shift today, for a first one back after some downtime.
First I explained to a smiley-spammer that you could not do that in system wide comms. I then helped a new pilot with the types of ships he could get if he 'restarted' and what would be a good mining and trading run for him to start off with.
Two pilots then contacted me over private comms, one asking about NPC, and factions that went with these groups, the other asked about the skype communication channels for help.
I told him I was unaware if that was still active, but I have not heard about it, and directed him to the forums and my account incase he had further questions.
Explained mining to a new player, and told him about the various mining fields. Told him what ID and IFF he needs to mine in said fields.
Another player was asking about a Liberty ship that is similar to the Corsair Titan. Pointed him towards the Avenger. Also explained to him where he can get one and what ID and affiliation he needs to do so.
Answered multiple questions about Guard rep and Guard ID's. One player was curios as to why the Guard NPC faction is hostile to him. Told him to do two or three more missions to get the rep to neutral so he can buy his equipment.
Another, relatively new guy, was also asking around about Guard ID's. He didnt know if he needs to be a part of an official faction to get a Guard ID. Answered his questions and told him how and where to get Guard ID's and what they are generally used for.
Tried to help a few others by explaining the purposes of the System and Local chat.
And thats about it I guess. Quite a busy day in Penny. Lots of typing.
Helped dozens of people inquiring about the mining mod. Literally dozens. Told them what happened. Why it happened. Felt a bit shallow in the reasoning department. People saying it would kill certain factions and all. Told them to look at the forums for more information. (Probably a bad call in hindsight, seeing how the thread have expanded.)
Helped a person with trade routes and repping.
Helped another with an explanation on shield stripping guns and a ship's powercore.
But yes, mostly mining mod related questions. (And they all came in waves. Silence. And then the next moment five of them.)
