Dark Death if you want to help there is this thing called applying for black squadron instead of making Dboy mad. Cmon people let's admit it I say 3-7 days before civil war, let the count down begin.
There are plenty of factions that haven't been taken, such as the Unioners, Bundschuh (theres only a group of them, no factions yet), Farmers alliance (dont laugh!), Hogosha and others... don't go for the order without researching everything. There are plenty of untaken ones.
Razr, what if he just wanted to lead something and be somebody?... I know I'd rather do that than be a peon; besides... Civil war would be a little extreme. For however extreme war can be in FL...
I mean, a series of 1 v 1 skirmishes? Maybe a 1 v 3 or something, but hardly ever large scale or interesting unless its arranged. And even if you arranged it, there would always be some mindless member of a clan who shot before the battle started so that when one side was still mustering forces, the battle flared and was over with before half the people were there.
I say go for it, Dark... Mostly just to spite everybody who's been flaming you. There is nothing to say that you shouldn't and no logical reason why you shouldn't... Other than people whining over "Awwww... But I WANNA BE THE ONLY ORDER CLAN!! EEEEIII! *bashes keyboard*"
Lets give people a chance, guys. I don't think we should judge somebody just because their choice of a faction, much less flame him.
Good luck, Dark.
P.S. @ McNeo... Good man... Indeed, be nice, kiddies. (Or adult... ies?) I think Dark was going more toward the Order since its really just a group of people not wanting to be taken over by Liberty... Not technically 'criminals' persay. But some could argue that the Farmers Alliance and most the people you listed are just disgruntled and not 'criminals'... Persay!
So Magoo you support new people coming in starting a faction and getting flamed because they did it all wrong? Erm the problem here, I don't think Dboy started out hostile. Also I joined a faction as a 'peon' and we leading it in about 4 and a half months. It's call 'progression' learn it.
What about the fact that hes been here i very short time, his first ever post on disco was to create a faction, then a couple of days later this? and still not much research gone into it at all imo.
What is it with new people wanting there own faction?, i can tell you why, its a fast way to command most of the time, you should do what i and probably most did when i got here i join a couple of faction, got used to the place and worked my way up and ive got high ranks in both.
So in ending new guys please please please join a faction, get on the server for a couple of months before you do these things!!!
... Good points. I didn't look at his post count. But we still shouldn't judge a book by his cover. If he has a battleship he's obviously been on the server longer than the forums.
There really isn't much info on the Order... I mean... Really all we know is a shaky Corsair alliance and the fact that most Order pilots fly the rusty toolboxes that are Corsair Gunboats... And the Nomad war... Pretty much everything in the Faction Rep card thing is all we know. And if you hail the NPC pilots more than once they get very angry.
It's not like he's starting a clan in a Starflier... Whatever, I'm done posting here unless directly spoken to. I don't want to get off topic... That was just my opinion.
I will give you credit for consulting with Hoodlum via PM about your new faction. That shows you are willing to do the work.
As to the "flames" that you're getting. The "older" members here can tell you that a lot of factions last a very short time; because either their concept is weak, or they didn't spend time researching not only the npc aspects, but also what other factions are about.
Also, you can always ask questions of the Admins.. and the Faction "The Angels" will always help.
We may seem "elitist" at times, but we are just trying to ensure that new factions are successful and will be around more than just a week or two.
I will add though being on the server long enough to own a battleship is not a good reason to start one.
Owning a BS is not a license to start a faction ...
Infact working towards that would be seen to be a better move, otherwise it sort of smacks of capship
overkill, for the want of a better word:dry:
Hoodlum
Some say he is a proud member of: "The most paranoid group of people in the Community."
There is no reason that he shouldn't at least try to create this faction. If we could help him out on how to improve it, then it may improve and get better. If not, then the faction will die, and nobody would ever have to worry about it again.
Dboy, I'm not exactly sure why you're so afraid of another order faction, but it seems to me like a power thing.

It may just be me, but I see a lot more of constant bashing and persecution of the person that tried to create the faction. If we don't like a faction idea, the worst that we should do is tell the person to try later when they've played here more. The best option would be to tell them what is wrong and how they can fix it.
Hype
