@Fellow Hoodlum; Which ones in particular? All of the enemies mentioned on the Outcast infocard and allies on the Corsair infocard are there. The Order is merely unfriendly due to the fact that it indirectly helps BLS business by cleaning out Nomad space, which is a vital corridor for quick travel from Malta to Manhattan.
@Drake; That's why escorts are in the organization. Also, the BLS may occasionally ask friendly Outcast "pawn" factions to be middlemen for cardamine in return for, say, half of the profits and an escort. Sort of like modern Columbian drug lords having people act as mules. In the case of Rogues/[N], it would be quite literal if they were using Mules.
@Dab; Thanks for that. I'm now going to PM the leaders to propose an alliance. Due to the fact that the 101st is allied with them and that the goals are ostensibly the same (destruction of the major houses), I may even ask Kane for friendlier relations between BLS and Phantoms. Wouldn't count on it though:P.
Yes, Omicron Alpha would be jointly shared with other Outcast factions.
First; Outcasts are not interested in the destruction of all the major houses. Thats the Corsairs. Outcasts are interested in spreading the cardamine farther and farther.
Secondly; Your not going to make friends calling the Outcast's allies 'Pawns.'
Thirdly; Before you can claim Alpha to be jointly shared; Again, have you ASKED the 101st? They have official and legal right and jurisdiction of Omicron Alpha. You get shared jurisdiction if they give you it, and you have the amount/type they give you.
They dont have any jurisdiction in Omicron Alpha. Rememebr, they own the Outcast guard system, so they only have limited power in the regular outcast space.
Juno hates your slaving guts though...and if Malta wasn't Dune...
But no, the Cardamine must flow.
She may play Harkkonnen, and steal your spice for her stockpile.
I'm sorta for it...in an opositional sort of way...
sounds like fun.
Holly may even like you...what's your stance with the Hessians?
@Dab;
The Outcasts may not entirely be just a big drug cartel. They have a culture, a history, and a pride in their heritage. It's like comparing the Liberty Rogues (except in the case of the Naheyiha, they are simple thugs and rogues for hire and low class hoodlums and bandits) to the Blood Dragons. Some of the more senior Outcasts may actually have a goal in mind in addition to that of making money, namely the manipulation of the control drug addiction offers in order to secure an Outcast-led, house recognized Hispanian house. Not all of them would have the exact same goals. Some may be idealists, others may be simple profit makers.
Why do you think the Outcasts fund the Blood Dragons, Bundschuh, and other socialist groups? They could easily use independent pirates who may not have moral, idealistic objections to drug use/dealing (such as the Dragons, who say that the GC's use of cardamine will be their ruin, and that cardamine is evil). There is both a possible element of profit and pride here, just like the real Mafia.
"Pawns" is in the RP sense. It's undeniable that the Liberty Rogues, GC, Dragons, Bundschuh et al are under the influence of a larger criminal organization, namely, the Outcasts. In some cases, it even explicitly states so, sometimes from the Outcasts themselves. It's an RP thing. The Outcasts aren't stupid, and wouldn't openly call their allies pawns in their company. They'd call them associates, affiliates, friends. They'd only call them pawns to each other, because that's what the thugs-for-hire, socialists signing on for $$$ and addicts are. They don't control entire planets, they control at most 5 stations and a system each or so.
The Blood Dragons are a rare exception to this. They have a rich history and own an entire system with a centuries old, city sized base. The Mollys, Bundschuh, Gaians Farmer's Alliance et al and Red Hessians stand in the middle, with moderate history and holdings. The Liberty Rogues et al sit at the bottom, with little history (except with the Nayehiya), little culture and little influence.
As for the ownership of Alpha, it is technically impossible to own it as a vanilla system, but the fact there is perpetual war with the Corsairs does mean that the 101st's ZOI extends to it. I am in the process of negotiation with the 101st as to the possibility of an alliance. As of now, the faction does not own anything, and will not act like it does.
@Unselie;
The BLS' stance towards the Hessians is friendly. Assistance will be provided if requested, and in the event BLS gains joint "ownership" (quotes added due to the fact it is impossible to own a vanilla system), you will be allowed through.
I dont see us in the friends section like we sould be {JM} & {JC}
I am putting you in mine - We have the same friends and Outcast are
our closest friends.
If i would guess, we as BSG would most definitely shoot you on site, since we hate Outcast trough and trough. This also includes our NPC Faction IMG (read replist).
Be prepared to look over your shoulder constantly, cus we are bound to be on your tail.
