I live a small city of about 400k people called Christchurch in New Zealand. We've just had another bad earthquake. It is bad. We had a 7.1ish one a few months ago and nobody died. At least 65 people have died today.
There are now burning collapsed buildings in the central city.
The building opposite my wife's office collapsed as she was leaving.
This is not fun.
I and my family are okay although my wife had to walk home as the entire city was gridlocked.

Sounds like you guys will have your hands full over there for a while. Not much you can do about quakes... If it was a big one keep yourself safe in case of any aftershocks. Echoing what Zelot said, this place can manage itself for a while if you need to take care of things.

A dreadful shame to hear of the situation, but its good to hear that your family is safe and together.
I hope you and residents of Christchurch get through these hard times with speed.
