Alright, maybe I'm being abrasive, and if I am I apologize. The entire ordeal seems completely selfish to me, though. I don't feel like I've been CDed. I would have felt like I was being CDed if I was contacted by the RM at all instead of meeting a rather harmless sounding Freelancer and suddenly becoming hostile. The talk was all skipped, and I was just killed.
I think I made some pretty reasonable suggestions to make it seem otherwise. Suggestions to go more along the guidelines of these, well, rules:
' Wrote:Bounty Hunting, Mercenary & Freelancer Hire
1. All bounties must be posted on the forum. If you attack another player to claim a bounty and the bounty is not posted on the forum, you are open to a PvP abuse sanction.
9. There are no anonymous bounties. Administrators may post bounties on behalf of people wishing to remain anonymous and may request that persons sponsoring bounties identify themselves to Administrators.
' Wrote:THE SEVEN RIGHTS OF OFFICIAL FACTIONS, AND THEIR ASSOCIATED RESPONSIBILITIES:
RESPONSIBILITIES ASSOCIATED WITH RIGHT 5
Factions may only do this after they have interacted with the character in role play. Faction leaders should post reputation change requests in the Special Role Play section with a link to the forum evidence.
It would be a lot less dirty for the party receiving a Faction Right 5 if the Freelancers were reporting their actions in the open, instead of in PMs (as well as ensuring legitimacy in Bounty Rule #1). It would be much easier to find the database if the posts were taken out of quotes so they show up in the search engine. It would be much more inviting to RP with you if you informed people that they have been caught, and that they have a fine to pay or else they will be Faction Right 5ed. Currently the way you are going about your Roleplay is selfish. You're putting all the onus of Roleplay on the receiving party while doing only the bare minimum yourself, and this is not really right for an Official Faction. I'd just like to ask that you consider those options (as they are rather easy to implement - the hardest one would be taking all the reports out of quotes) and try and consider the other player a small bit more. Thanks.
[8:32:45 PM] Dusty Lens: Oh no, let me get that. Hello? Oh it's my grandma. She says to be roleplay.
[12:49:19 AM] Elgatodiablo: You know its nice that you have all that proof and all, Bacon... but I just don't believe you.
Baconsoda, as I told you a few days ago and pointed it out on in the FR5 thread already:
- The Freelancer will be no longer sending me messages in PMs, as he has the rights to act in space. Refer to this thread: http://discoverygc.com/forums/index.php?sh...c=93338&hl= He will also be reporting on the forums, either the bounty board or the thread in question.
- The Rheinland Criminal Database will be getting a new administrator and he will appoint reforms, such as listing fines. Whether the people are or aren't in the quotes is irrelevant as the violators are already listed on the first page of the database. But don't tell me you searched for the name of your character before the incident occurred.
-We will not tell everyone individually that they got on the list, traffic policing should not be the military's job to begin with. If you want more pleasant treatment, nag the Police to fly more or join them and help them regain activity.
If you're worried about role play aspects, it's our role to hire Freelancers to catch people whom we otherwise can't catch. There's no powergaming or abuse to the slightest if we're employing Freelancers, seeing how constant surveillance is impossible as this is a game not a job.
With all due honesty, you were bringing up PvP analogies, so I will serve with one as well: Same way how people proceed to complain to faction feedback threads for getting beaten in PvP, you're complaining here too because you were caught smuggling.
Your suggestions have been answered days ago. What else do you want aside calling us jerks, labeling our methods dirty and telling us how much we suck as an official faction?
Well, I have nothing besides saying that the ordeal felt dirty. I feel very relieved to hear that he will no longer be sharing in PMs, and that is very nice to hear. Thank you for taking my complaints into consideration. Hopefully no one else will be confused about that person's identity in the future.
You're right. I never searched that thread before I was caught. Why would I? And that's my point with contacting the people directly. No, it's not your job to be nice, but, well, it'd be nice. I mean, if I took the time to make a template...

Guten Tag.
This is an automated message from the Rheinland Federal Police. A ship registered under your name has been caught breaking the Rheinland Laws. Please see the Rheinland Criminal Database for further details on this ship's particular case. If you do not comply with the fine listed, the registered ship will be declared an illegal ship and apprehended by police and military forces.

That took about 5 minutes, and if you were to just put something really simple like that in the communications thread with a title like "To: BLANK", it'd give a very inviting opportunity for people to RP with you, or know they should pay a fine OR get FR5ed, because, well, how else would someone know? If the RFP would like to do it, I wouldn't see a problem with them doing it, and you filing the FR5 if they're not official (dunno if they are at this point). Overall, it'd just give someone the opportunity to RP a situation instead of just getting beaten by default, which I do think is worth complaining about.
Thanks for listening, especially if I did seem overly abrasive. Really the onus of RP shouldn't be put on the shoulders of one party, and that's kind of what I'm trying to say with pushing that message. It might be different when you catch someone ingame on your RMs, but when I was caught, there was no inkling of being able to account for myself. Since you probably do inform people that they'll have to pay a fine on your RMs, maybe then just sending a message to people the Freelancers have caught would be nice? Because it's not horribly clear that these people are actually working for the RM and that they're going to be declared hostile...

Thank you for the feedback. If you wish to further contribute to the management of the criminal database, discuss your suggestions with rwx, who will be appointed the new administrator.
Just a small question, if I may. Today I was attacked by a RM officer, and said officer was assisted by a Wilde. Before I got there, they were trying to stop some smugglers.
Point it, what are your reactions towards Das Wilde?
' Wrote:As far as I know, they look at Wilde as RM pilots.
Well, my initial doubt has been solved. The RM was actually a Wilde as well, I somehow missed the tag *facepalm*
As for that, well, yes, you can't go "you have wilde id, dai" or something of the sort. But he was using nomad guns, so it was pretty obvious he wasn't a RM officer.
' Wrote:But he was using nomad guns, so it was pretty obvious he wasn't a RM officer.
The thing is that there are many "unknown" guns in the market. The Codenames.
So if we find a wild and scan him, we will treat his nomad weapons as some kind of codename weaponry... and also we don't usually question other RMs too.. things in Rheinland are far more dangerous.. you don't want to get disappeared, do you?
Anyway, since I read your posts in the Wild Feedback thread, I want to clarify that Hans Eckhard is a known Wild, so in his case we activate code blue and we don't treat him as a normal MND Agent.
Well, its up to you how you will threat [RM-MND]Hans.Eckhard. He is using human technology and trying to get that char only for RPing purposes as a Rheinland military officer.
So its entirely up to you if you go: " ENGAGIN WILD" or " Engaging RM" .
