Secondly, you might want to check out the codes on your last message. You directed it to independent Corsairs... but kept it on secure channels. Might want to rectify that, my friend.
I know you've been under a lot of pressure recently, so I kept this message between the two of us...
Its not like our comm channel hasn't been hacked by every bugger in Sirius by now anyway, so broadcasting over these so-called secure channels shouldn't be any block to young enterprising Corsairs.
And if they haven't had the foresight to bother to look for this transmission band, then they have neither the common sense nor the intelligence to be of use to their brothers.
@From: Atilla Farquar
@To: All Corsairs, SCRA, and TBH Elders but EXCLUDING other TBH brothers.
Let it be known, I stand by Elder Juan Montoya in this decision. I would have preferred not to have bloodshed... but we will have order and respect from every Corsair for our allies and guests. If that is beyond you, then I suggest you get posted to the frontlines and turn your aggression against our actual enemies.
Message to: The Brotherhood, the rest of the Corsairs
Comm ID: Pedro Maniaco
My dearest brothers!
If you are reading this message it means I am dead now and this is the last time you hear from me.
The rest of you are still retreating from Sigma 13, but something tells me my end is coming soon and I decided to compose this message. I may have been taking our loss in Rheinland personally but that's simply the way I am. Time is flying and a few moments ago scouts confirmed that a large Rheinland fleet is following us.
First of all, I'd like to suggest two new Elders. Including me, the Brotherhood will probably soon loose another Elder, the eldest one, Brother Alexander. He has been keeping it secret but his lung cancer has developed greatly and although our doctors at Crete are doing their best they are loosing him. He's confined to bed all the time.
The first one is an amazing pilot, most skilled one among us, and a great friend of mine. Blood of an ancient corsair family is flowing his veins and I am sure that every each one of us could entrust his life in his hands any time. He's known as Skyelius.
And the second one I didn't have the chance to get to know closer but I always admired his pure corsair nature and we both agreed on the Nomad issue, which concerned usage of Nomad weaponry on our ships. His name is Juan Lucendez.
I know I can't force you all to obey my decision but please at least consider these two candidates I am suggesting. That is, if they both agree with their nomination. Please support them if you can.
Now the Nomad issue. We already spoke about this among the Elders and we agreed that the threat of Nomad infestation is to high to ignore. We lost a lot of great pilots recently and therefore we can't risk loosing more. I wanted to launch this earlier but I would like all members of the Brotherhood to get rid of any nomad weaponry and equipment they are currently using, including nomad guns and nomad thrusters. We have tested some nomad-less weapon loadouts and believe me, we can live without them.
And now I have to face the most burning issue, which is the SCRA. I was the one who granted Ares the honorary status of the Elder and the "Defender of Crete" medal. I have known him since I was a young boy and we were always close to each other. Our common raids in Bretonia were known among most of the elder corsairs. When he left us and joined the Coalition Army it was a terrible stroke. I couldn't understand why and our paths went in separate directions. I haven't heard of him for a long time and time healed a lot of old wounds.
But then, after several years, I met him in the bar on Crete again. He was representing the Coalition and according to the 'Arms Deal' they helped us defend Crete against enemies in exchange for allowing them to use our weaponry. But ever since they came the problems started. Some of our younger pilots, as well as other corsair factions didn't approve our close relations to Coalition pilots, aligned to terrorists Xenos, and from time to time arguable skirmishes came.
I first ignored them, trying to belittle the problems and I tried to explain both sides to cease their fire. But then we lost our friends, the Omega Pirate Guild, for which I always blamed their leader, Gentle. Now I wouldn't be so sure that it was only his fault. Then it continued with LDDLG. SCRA pilots, after being shot at, destroyed several their ships at Crete's orbit and for the first time, I realized there was a civil war threat among us. I was able to only sent a message to their leader because I was too occupied in our Rheinland Base of Operations.
I am reviewing it now and I must admit I was blind, maybe because I was too focused on my primary goal, the Rheinland Invasion, and SCRA fitted very well in those plans. I was always blaming the rest of Corsairs for the tensions but now I am sure that the SCRA are pushing a wedge between us. Whether it's intentional or not I don't know. But I hope, there is still a peaceful way out of this.
So if you have read this message until now, I beg you, don't let the unity of our nation fall apart. No matter what we do, how we do and where we do it, the Corsairs should always be on the first place. My friend Ares will probably never forgive me if he receives a copy of this message, but I am sorry, this is simply what I feel now. If he had not beem away so long, he would probably understand me better.
Please take care of my daughter Teresa. I didn't suggest her as a next Elder, because no matter how great she is, she's not ready yet.
Incomming Transmission
To: Broadband transmission across all Corsair frequencies
Remodulated for Coalition communication devices.
Due to a change in circumstances, my last transmission is to be considered void. However, I need to clarify some things after making myself look like an idiot. Losing my temper was bad, and I made some rash decisions. I have had time to think about everything, and plan how to honour Pedro Maniaco's last wishes.
First of all, I am sorry to say this, but Ares please refrain from shooting or allowing your soldiers to shoot our brothers under any circumstances. Unfortunately, due to the changes in circumstances, this is the only way forward.
Secondly, it is imperative that all brothers with experience teach those with less experience how to be a good Corsair and correctly fulfill the objectives that they should be. So I leave it up to those of the Brotherhood and others with experience to teach the impetuous youth the error of their ways.
Thirdly but most importantly: Unity. We must not rely on anyone to win battles for us. We can't be inter-dependent, or depend on our other brothers, although we must listen to every one of them. Respect your brothers with above average, ace skill and beyond. They deserve our ears and respect, Skyelius for example. We must trust each other and remember that individuals can't win for us. We can't rely on other brothers or on any other ally but our own, and must always fight as one, as the Brotherhood we are.
I once lost seven Titan's in a single day, practicing against live targets, Outcasts, Bretonians, Bounty Hunters, every scumbag thinkable. That was what made me better. Rely on yourself and your brothers to make yourself better, not anyone else. We must be unified to survive.
I'm afraid you'll be losing much in the way of unity, my friend.
My pilots will not be defending Crete any more and I'm not inclined to force them. It's not their home, after all.
Also, the best way to show those ignorant fools how to behave is with a gun. It's the only language they seem to understand. Either that or their comm. devices simply don't work.
You must realise that in protecting these fools, you are giving them the benefits of being Brotherhood pilots with none of the responsibilities. They are taking advantage of the Brotherhood, hiding behind you, but not acting in a manner befitting Corsairs.
If I am treated like some filthy outsider, don't expect me to be nice to them.
Oh, an observation...
Backing down made you look weak in front of your pilots. They won't respect your orders in battle as much. It looks bad.
Now, I hope you're taking notes, since I'm not best pleased. My pilots have been shot at, but apparently they can get away with it because the cuplrits were Corsairs. Not on my watch.
P.S.
That message from Maniaco breaks my heart. His last words about me, his friend, and he acts like I am an enemy. I've always been loyal to the Corsair people... but when I act like a Corsair in response to insult and injury upon my adopted family, I 'drive a wedge' into the Corsair nation. Well, far be it from me to disrespect the dead, but Pedro was wrong.
I've suggested a way in which to pull the Corsairs together. The Brotherhood can act like a strong glue and hold the nation together, or it can let the Corsair nation descend into barbarism, which is what I'm seeing when I patrol Gamma in my Titan.
A good leader does not stick to the wrong course of action. Many leaders have fallen from power because of this. I am determined not to be one of them. A good leader admits his mistakes.
Farbeit from you to disrespect the dead, and farbeit from me to stop you abandoning your people. Leave if you must, I wont stop you. It is better if we are left to teach our brothers how to do something right instead of gunning them down like some cattle. Pedro helped me see this, but obviously you have been blinded by the organisation you are now a part of.
We all make mistakes. I made one, I will correct it as best as I can.
You are about to make one, and I sense you wont look back at your brothers as you have lost all feeling. The civilization that made you what you are now is not the Corsairs. It is the Coalition.
The Coalition is not a nation, it is a way of thought. I am a Corsair who believes in the Coalition way of running things. I joined the Coalition to help the Corsairs, you know this.
So, no, I'm deciding nothing. To do so would be treachery.
As to 'the wrong course of action'... I bring up the example of the Rheinland Military, who so very recently showed the Corsairs how to do things. This force has, in the past, shown little tolerance for fools blackening their name. They are strong and they are united now. Their willingness to take tough decisions has put Rheinland in the strongest position that it has ever been in, unfortunately.
First of all Ares, the group who unites itself never loses. If you mean you will keep blackmailing the Elders and putting up your seemingly reasonable threats for everyone to see, do as you wish. I'm sure everyone that knows enough about the relationship between TBH and SCRA knows that we've been too dependent on your aid in the past. We have been acting as a child who calls for his big brother to help him in an equal fight. And I do say we, because I've become bonded to my brothers in this Brotherhood, deeper that your friendship with Pedro Maniaco ever really was. You have lost your respect amongst us, as most have had their eyes opened by someone who is worthy of calling himself our father, someone who has saved us countless times in the past and against all possible odds, has now managed to help us yet again, even after his death. You're treating the future of the Corsair race as useless brats, and betraying what you claim you have been trying to protect. And no, your discouragement doesn't work at all. Juan Montoya has never seemed stronger to our eyes. He's admitted his mistake, something that you have shown that are not capable of.
On a second thought... your pilots? The only pilots within the Coalition, as far as I've seen, worthy of the honors a faction can give are Ivan Voronov and Sonja Kerensky. They have been there to fulfill their duty, not hide behind their ranks. But that is not very important compared to what you should know by now. You can say you have patrolled Gamma in your Titan with a Corsair insignia carved into your underwear, and it will not change what you have made us see about you. The Rheinland Military has shown a good example of unity, and perhaps you may want to try and infiltrate them to cause conflicts between their brethren, but your own words predict what you will find: Unity. You will not be able to infect them with your parasitic ways. The Corsairs will move on to the next level, the same one that we should have been a long time ago. And in a few days when we have done our work, you will look at us and see that trait.
We are not rebels. We are independent, and we are free. We protect our allies and our friends, but we don't need the conditioned help you're offering. On behalf of all the Brotherhood, I say "No, gracias".
One more thing, you may leave Gamma and betray your friends if you want. But then, know that as long as commanders like you lead the Coalition, not one of you will set a foot on our roots, or on Crete. We do not declare you our enemies, but you may feel rejected by some of your men, those that manage to realize what you have become, and that may lead you to take a harsh decision.
Of course, we will never betray our brothers, as young as they may be. And if you choose attack us we will respond as the united people we should be.
Personally, I would not want that because some of us have made good friendships with your men, but if a battle is to come, then as a proud Corsair and member of The Brotherhood, I WILL FIGHT IT!

I may not agree with all father wrote, but he's right in one thing. Corsairs MUST stay united. At all costs. And it doesn't matter how much I respect our friends from Coalition Army, especially Ares, Ivan and Sonya. We are Corsairs, same blood flows throu our veins and we must not forget that.
Therefore I back up Skyelius' opinion.
Teresa Chavez out.
