I replaced most of the Freelancer soundtracks with music from Starcraft 2. I like the result.:)

And don't get me wrong. The music from freelancer is epic, but after you have heard each soundtrack 9000 times... *sigh*

Well, Freelancer music has its pros and cons ...

If there are no enemies around, there a music for this. If there's enemies on the scanners, there's a music for this ... and also if you are in combat, there's a special music to this.
And every 3 of them are different for the regions (each house has its own as well as the border worlds etc.).

Theoretically, one could just replace those sounds with the music one would like to hear when they encounter this and that situation. But the work is quite hard, and it WILL require a lot of hard drive space (wave files are not known for their compression - they are like the .bmp files: perfect quality, but high file size:D) ...

So, muting the game music and playing different audios in the "background" is the best way so far:D

Star Wars musics are good and so epic!! But you can get SOASE (Sins of a Solar Empire) music, Haegemonia and Starlancer, you have also some Scrapland musics or Imperium Galactica 2 space battle theme.
