How can you not like my corny music? It's in your name. Now that I think of it, have you even made it through the whole selection or did you just listen to a quarter of the first song and quit? I'm curious, because that looks like what everyones doing. Saturns Brass is actually a very cool song, even if you're not in disco.
Anyway, new music will probably be more like Freelancer Bar Music.
I don't plan on completely taking out the disco music, but rather keep it for another radio channel. For example, if BHG| had it's own radio channel. . .It'd have it's own news and own music. It could play early thrash metal music, or something. For the Outcasts, they'd have their own news/talkshows/cardamine cooking(lolnotreally) and their own music, which will probably be something more like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dexRDAMsX9I

So, guys, here's the plan.
We make a "general radio" to get some practice; for news, it'll just be anything upstanding that's happening in the houses. The music will be a combination of the Freelancer music with other music I have that sounds like Freelancer music (don't worry you'll like it, it's like the bar music :>). All I need now is some more news, a revised script and support!
I'll begin working on some of the script, anything would be helpful (except for more disco bashing)
Seriously. It reminds me of GTA IV with its car radio. Those were awesome.
But don't use vocal music... it doesn't really fit. Try using more non-vocals. Also, in future versions, more news, interviews, etc.
Otherwise, awesome idea, I'll definitely have this running in the background.
Edit: Alright, I just random-skipped through the rest of the thing, and apparantly, the other music is more like it should be. The first one really was... terrible.
I'd love a Fallout-themed radio - playing the old time music. There'd be nothing better than shooting 'sairs to Jingle Jangle Jingle. Using the Battlestar Galactica Soundtracks would be brilliant, I listen to them all the time.
[17:45:39] Wolfs Ghost (Murphy): Tom, you have problems. Go kill yourself.
[19:25:12] Johnny (Jam): Tomtom, I will beat you with a spoon.
[14:22:56] Prarabdh Thakur: KILL HIM WITH A SHEEP.
[17:40:48] Eagle (Junes): Tom should be slapped with a spoon.
[11:32:18] Warspite: Thank you for being so awesome Tom. <3
[18:17:36] Metano: I love you tomtom
[20:06:24] Warspite: I will seriously give you epic head.
' Wrote:Edit: also, Tomtomrawr, fappin' like a boss.
Just imagine faction propaganda, inrp talkshows, commercials, pirate forecast and such. Provided if it's possible for willing members to host their materials, maybe even in real-time.
*scrolling down, evading some posts without even reading them*
Do you know GTA? Listen to the radio stations there, they'll give you a hint of what I expect from a Sirius "radio" station:D

I actually disagree, I think shooting Corsairs with Sing, Sing, Sing in the back might be more exciting, but it all relies on the occasion, I reckon. Anyway, I think what I'm going to do is make it so the general radio has freelancer esque music and the subdivisions that are based off of factions (or rather, radio hosts whom factions employ) will be able to "choose" their own music. I wont let people choose music that wouldn't be appropriate (aka Justin Bieber, Little Wayne, AC/DC, Dr. Dre, Godsmack. . .)

Battlestar Galactica, Starship Troopers, Starwars, Gattaca, Alien-- Science Fiction soundtracks in general are going to be used. If we can get a nerd pile of songs either in file or youtube or just in a list, that'd be great and make my life easier.

Thank ya'll, I'll need some help gathering the special effects and actually coming up with more ideas, but this really helps.

Maybe you're just jealous you don't have an extraterrestial lover.
. . .
Would it help if I thought, "Well, I don't really want vocal tracks, but it's not all about what I want" and that plan backfired? Anyway, yes. I will highlight the next section to ask. . .
Where would be a good news outlet for Discovery news?
Who would be appropriate to interview?
Any candidates to do a talkshow/call the radio station to ask a question?

DO YOUR PART:
Ask your faction leaders if they'd be interested in working with this!
Ask yourself if you'd be interested in working with this!
Keep criticizing and offer constructive ideas
Offer hooks and lines that are witty and possibly corny (THE MOST SERIOUS MUSIC IN SIRIUS!)
Throw in Youtube links to music, now looking for; SciFi Orchestral!
Create commercials to sell your latest weapons and otherwise!
Bump this thread with a mindless: "wow ur disco music stinkz" or "Wow, I love how all the song names and content of the songs are associated with space. You must've spent hours after hours collecting tons of tunes specifically around the idea of space disco, and that's something I can respect despite the fact that I haven't actually grown a tolerance towards the music itself."
More ideas for content! Maybe a lovers channel? "How can Doctor Love make things between you and your mutated boyfriend work?" or maybe a political channel, "NO, IT'S CITED THAT THE ZONERS ARE NOT UNDER DIRECT BRETONIAN LAW BLAHBLAHBLAH" or maybe a ship channel, where they read off reviews from the Wiki in an IC manner? I don't know, but YOU might!
Currently, this is how I'm thinking:
General Radio: Freelancer Esque music, all four lawful houses, neutral, all-around propaganda
Criminal Radio: Jungle, IDM, Breakcore, Hardcore Gabber, Terrorcore music, all evil factions, all-around propaganda dominated by primarily Corsairs and Outcasts
And from there on, the general radio will split according to interest, the criminals will split off into both Corsair and Outcast and the general radios will split off onto whichever house seems to demand it the most. We'll figure it out!
If any of you have ever heard of or played a game called Torn, they have a great user-run radio system. It's live, has plenty of hosts, each with different style and taste, lots of music, and plenty of giveaways.;)While I love the idea of a... universal... Sirus Satellite Radio... (ba dum chhh!) I think that it's kinda shallow; I think Liberty Radio would have more RP depth to it. It'd be really cool to collaborate with a few people - have different radio stations up for different factions. Giveaways and contests could be open to only friendly ID/IFF players, and angry Rheinlanders could call in to the Liberty station every once in a while.
You could even incorporate the buying/selling market by allowing people to buy advertisements that'll run every x minutes.
I decided I was going to trade, and opened your radio, and I liked it. If I were a trucker and not a student, this is what I would listen to.
[8:32:45 PM] Dusty Lens: Oh no, let me get that. Hello? Oh it's my grandma. She says to be roleplay.
[12:49:19 AM] Elgatodiablo: You know its nice that you have all that proof and all, Bacon... but I just don't believe you.
