Well, the shape of the ship...i could be one, but the gun has to go. The front wings should go also, as they don't serve any purpose. The wings could not be used for atmospheric entry, but to the ship's center is in the middle. The wings are too small and in a wrong place to be used as a gliders. The side rails could be made thinner and be used as frames with mounted spherical shapes. (they can be used to transporting gases for example)
or
Make the center piece a cargo, which would hold materials or all sorts, it should also be a recycling center. Use the side rails as a mount for 2 big Domes. Or you can have a one big half dome mounted on top of the ship and that dome would be resting/connected/supported to the center piece by those two side rails. That ship would not land on planets, but be something like a cruise liner or long term exploration vessel with its own habitat.
Most of the ships in the game are based on the X-axis. Try making this ships based on Y-axis, make it tall. (something like BH's ships)

I think you're approaching this from a much more realistic place than I am, the front wings aren't really wings at all, the gun is referencing a U-Boat's deck gun, and the general shape is a cut/cross of a Cardasian standard and a traditional crossbow.

Yeah, pretty much. Most of my projects consist of flights of fancy for my own gratification. Since I'm inconsistent with keeping up with my skills and have next to no direction in my real life right now it manifests in my work.
My brother just gave me to the idea to mess about with the design elements of the M3 Lee since it has such a unique presence, so I think I'll get into that later this after or night, we'll see.
