there is a slight problem with double barrled guns. - that is mostly that they are more efficient.
take the situation - the enemy shields were down - but have just builded up again. while someone with a single gun doing 10.000 damage would shoot the shield down - someone with 2x 5000 damage would prolly kill the shield AND do 5000 damage additionally to the hull.
same effect you have when you used a twin nova ( in 4.83 ) over a single supernova now. - the supernova does more damage than two novas - but two novas would much easier penetrate a shield.
but i am all for it, - maybe you should increase the powerconsumption a little.
and one more thing - can you scale the turrets down? - those look REALLY big on the battleship - i think 30% smaller should be ok.
//edit - I should actually say something more if I'm going to post. I like the BHG getting unique weapons for bigger ships, and using the buckshot projectile is a touch of real class.
Hull damage - 1150 x2 = 2300 per shot
Shield damage - 575 x2 = 1150 per shot
Power usage - 3750 x2 = 15000 per shot
Speed - 1600 mps
Refire = 2
Price = 2250000 each.
This places it just below Order weapons since the story is that BH are battleing Order for tech.
This weapon would suggest that there is a race for tech instead of BH just using someone elses tech as it is now.

No actually, because both projectiles hit at the same time. Maybe if server was laggy... Maybe...

Nah, sry. They are FL original. But if someone can scale em to about 7/10 or 6/10 of current size it would look great.
The stats that I posted place the weapons stats just between Order Mk1 and Order Mk2 turrets.
I figure that way its less likely that someone will complain about them being to powerful.
Order Mk1
Hull - 2250
Shield - 1125
Power - 12000
Price - 1500000
Order Mk2
Hull - 2400
Shield - 1200
Power - 16000
Price - 2350000
So actually the stats should be:
Hull - 2350
Shield - 1175
Power - 14000
Price - 1900000
This is midway between the Mk1 and Mk2 weapons without winding up with some weird numbers (like 2325 hull damage).
Could always make an extended base and then put a cone-like structure at the bottom of the base. That way, it would look a little better if the turret is too large, because the tip of the cone should be INSIDE the ship, where it cant be seen. Then it will look like...ah hell forget it. I dont even remember what I was getting at...
EDIT: Also, would it possible to make the sparkle a little less....sporatic?

but, if we have 2 barrel guns for BH, why not make some for house guns. I mean, Lib dreadnaught only with these single barreled uglyness is boring at best. It goes worse as ships get larger...
I would like to see good old npc-style combination of single barrel and twin barrel.
