I am unconvinced that price limitations serve an effective barrier to acquiring rare ships. I would hypothesise, as a matter of personal opinion, that it would need to go hand-in-hand with some other structured framework that prevented their acquisition without first passing a set of prerequisites.

Micheal, you're stupid.
(This is only worthwhile if you make credits harder to come across, and slash everyone's current wealth by the same amount you're decreasing the cost of everything)
Micheal I think the solution is simple, Look at lapid and bibi, they raise one thing and decrease another ( and they do this with stupid things but the concept is still valid ) - Infact I would simple double the price of everything on the server because the devs made a wonderful job to all of us, doing credits is easy.

When 4.86 was getting ready to roll out, I was talking to Mjolner about the price of the ship. I wanted it to be uber expensive and his argument was that it wasnt good enough as a ship to be uber expensive.
This brings me to my first idea.
1. Ships should be priced by their rp value, not their comparative, disco value.
The more rare a ship is in rp, the more expensive it should be. This would become a reenforcing cycle, keeping the rarer ships in lower number sheerly by the price of the ship. This reflects the realist market value in an rp setting we are looking for. The Renzu liner should cost 1.5 billion, a battleship? an easy 3 billion. Now, I know what you are going to say, "Stoopid Zelot, Y U so Stoopid, ships have a maximum value. Stoopid Zelot." And I know, I do, which brings me to my second idea.
2. Cut the price of everything in Sirius by 3/4. Every commodity, weapon, armour, ship, bribe, everything. Cut it all by 3/4. This make the inflation toward the value cap reduce. This will allow us to make things that should be rare, much, much more expensive and allow my first idea to take shape.

It might actually have the reverse effect. Powertraders will buy the most expensive ships just cause it'll become kind of a luxury symbol, as they've done in all other games featuring things like this. Normal players would be affected, but I think we all know that a fair percentage of this server's population consists of powertraders/miners who'll just take this as a challenge and grind even more money.

Nice idea, tbh. With one addition - it'd be nice if caps/.ships in general would also have higher running costs, which would reflect their combat value. With proper stat adjustment.
