Crete should give higher payout for any kind of Food/Drink items.
Slaves....oh yeah.....Crete should give a nice payout for slaves. Absolutely..or maybe give the big payout to Tripoli.
Passengers....yeah right. Corsairs consider them contraband. One needs to remember..when carrying passengers..it is the passengers that are paying you. I cant quite come up with a rationalization on why millions of people would want to risk being blown out an airlock or being vaporized where they sit, to come to a pirate planet that is notoriously short on food. When i vacation i want FOOOOODD!!
Spies/Saboteur/Infiltrators would be really interesting commodities.
I agree with most of what's been said. I honestly don't know weather the Passenger thing was intentional, or perhaps someone put an extra digit on the price accidentally.
It's difficult to police, and has no RP basis for being profitable. I say down with passengers.
In my opinion, planet Crete should be one of, if not the most profitable place to sell; food rations, fertilizers, and consumer goods. (these are basic non-power-trade commodities)
It should be a rather profitable place to sell Luxury Consumer Goods and Luxury food (but profit per distance of all trade routes involving these to Crete should be no greater than for other significant trade routes). Light Arms are quite profitable to sell at Crete, this is a very good thing, on a number of levels.
Ideally, goods profitable to sell at Tripoli, and goods profitable to sell at Crete should be entirely different. For Crete, it is about sustaining population, for Tripoli everything is about the ships being built.
So, keep gold profitable there, along with ship hull panels and engine components (Engine Comps is a powertrade commodity, so we have to be careful not to make it more profitable than other similar routes).
Different kinds of fuel might also be in demand at Tripoli, for the corsairs' warships. They find it difficult to get hold of themselves, but would pay well if a third party such as the Zoners would bring it to them from the GMG or LD14.
Pharmaceuticals sell well at Leon Base. This is a good thing, as they are necessary for treating wounded pilots back from battles with the Hessians.
So; options for a powerful route into Gamma; L.C.Goods, L.Food, Engine Components, Gold, HFuel, Mox.
One for the Corsairs to treat as contraband? It's a good question.
I'd say slaves might be an option. I'm sure every family'd want one, but the leadership of the Corsairs might feel that it'd be bad for the nation to have to feed them. That'd mean they could be contaband.
Corsairs are against Cardimine because it's Outcast. There's no market for it in Gamma. This would suggest however, that Corsairs wouldn't have a problem with Synth. Marijuana. However, neither would the Corsair leadership, so that's not really a contraband option.
Hmm...have you seen the sun in Gamma? It's big and hot. Imagine the problems the people of Crete would have if their ozone layer suddenly got holes in it?
Contraband= bromofluorocarbons and chlorofluorocarbons. (Freon and Halon) Gasseous chemicals used by cheapskate Sirius businessmen in refrigeration (of FOOD) and propulsion (ie. they're also a ship fuel, but a fuel we DON'T want)
By the way, with regard to biodomes, we deliberately did not include them in our Omicron-94 design because we diddn't think we had the right to make such a sweeping change to the state of play without...erm..."planning permission"?
' Wrote:Well, I heard the Corsair bio-domes were notoriously fickle. The Zoners won't tell the Corsairs how to build them so they keep failing. Still the question is, where would they be? Tripoli? They'd get smashed by invading forces. Crete? No, you can't attatch bio-domes to planets. The most logical place for a Bio-dome to be is Omicron 91 or Omicron 94.
Omega-41.
These carrots not only delicious, but they glow in the dark too!
