Constant Crash When Loading Characters

I keep getting the following issue:
Every time I try log in to a character (usually after switching accounts with FL Account Manager) it loads the character and as it gets to the in-game screen crashes to desktop. I have tried launching in windowed mode, as an admin with no success.

After a random amount of attempts it seems to work...

Any help is appreciated.

I checked event viewer and am getting these constant issues:

An error was detected on device \Device\CdRom0 during a paging operation. Event ID: 51. Source: CD Rom

A request to disable the Desktop Window Manager was made by process (Freelancer) ID: 9010

The Desktop Window Manager was unable to start because composition was disabled by a running application ID: 9013

So far I have tried/trying these solutions, will let you know the results.

Event 51 Issue Cause By Graphics card
Action: Update drivers (it's a brand new card) & increase I/O stack space

Edit: It has something to do with Discovery Launchpad

Has this started happening suddenly or did you do something prior, such as updating the mod?

If you have a CD in the drive, take it out and retry. If that doesn't work, try disabling the CD/DVD-ROM in Device Manager.

Just Delete My Games Folder in My Documents, it Contains save Files of Freelancer game. Works for me.

The thing is, Kawish, is that the crash is occurring when logging-in, not at the game menu where it normally crashes when there's an incompatible save.

Alright, I deleted all Freelancer saves and disabled the CD Drive and also changed all my GPU settings to let application run or off. So far so good. Thanks guys. Will let you know after some gameplay if it happens again.

Do this,
Delete My Games Folder in My documents Again, Logoff PC , Login again, and Try Now. Hope it will work, if it will, then i will tell u the reason.

did you modified your freelancer in anyway? Look Try this last time, Go to my documents delete my games folder, then Refresh ,and check if my games folder re appears, if yes then delete it again, if not then log off and try. and let me know. best of luck.
