I second this. I think the POB's were great. To each his own they say, some people like to play just to keep their 'operations' ongoing. It was also a good economic stimulator for miners and shipping organizations, giving them something to do other than just bounce from npc base to npc base. Shipping materials that are actually going to use gives a bit of purpose, and again, provides a bit of an incentive to get the job done. Increased shipping volume = increased opportunities all around.
I hope they havn't given up on pob's. Can they really find no solution to this problem?
why not just assign a code to a base? so when a pob gets to 0 hp (however it gets there) it will just sit in space flaming until an admin signs off on the destruction. It can just be locked out once it hits 0, and basically would be like an abandoned station during that time, platforms will go dead. So if people are trying to sabotage they'll only get away with reducing it to 0 and locking it out.
Meaning if admin X goes and sees the base is hanging there locked out, they can veryfiy if it was a desired destruction, done due to siege, or sabotaged without permission. I'm no programmer or script writer but there's gotta be a way.
Bam, lets get em back in the game.
And yes the ZA may return from the void, I still favor those problems being worked out InRP.
POBs lagged the server to holy hell and promoted silent powertrading since people were more interested in supplying their base 5 hours a day instead of interacting with people

2/10 do not want returned
The lag problem was not that bad, but i agree that the time required to keep them supplied was a bit much. The rates of consumption should be scaled back greatly, so people will be able to spend less time on that.
That way they could get back into what they were for which was constructing special equipement like JD's and cloaks. Cloaks seem to be in high demand lately but with no new ones hitting the market we're just trading old ones around. Eventually they settle with people who want to keep them, and supply runs lower.
