Sorta siding with zapp here...I'm interested in seeing you work out, but I've seen lots and lots and lots of imports bury themselves. I don't think that's elietism, either, Its just something that has happened.
My suggestion is going to be to spread out a bit, join a faction or two, try and integrate in the community as individuals rather than as a group.
I'm not suggesting you dissolve your group, I'm just suggesting polygamy. See other groups.
Eh, Jazz, if I catch him in Edinburgh, well, he'll have a bit of help then. (I keep forgetting...Gaians are Corsair friends)
Mwhahaaha

Treewyrm Wrote:all in all the conclusion is that disco doesn't need antagonist factions, it doesn't need phantoms, it doesn't need nomads, it doesn't need coalition and it doesn't need many other things, no AIs, the game is hijacked by morons to confuse the game with their dickwaving generic competition games mixed up with troll-of-the-day.
When you try to become official, get some NCC's or restart the chars and get a tag for your faction. I know I don't know all the Eagle's Songs, and others might not as well.
I'd also side with Unselie. Try out another faction before trying to lead your own, it'll help you learn how they operate here on Disco as well as give you some experience in being a part of the group before leading the group. I would suggest one of the factions in my signature, all of which have recruitment links in them, but the choice of whether or not you want to do this is yours. No one is forcing you into anything.
Welcome again!
[8:32:45 PM] Dusty Lens: Oh no, let me get that. Hello? Oh it's my grandma. She says to be roleplay.
[12:49:19 AM] Elgatodiablo: You know its nice that you have all that proof and all, Bacon... but I just don't believe you.
Oh, we don't want to become official. I looked at that, 500 million is a bit steep, plus there are obviously enough Corsair factions as-is. We're just here to chill together and have a bit of fun.
Nice to have you here. Looks like I helped one of you folk with a mission against capships in my maneating robot Harvester 17. You folk were friendly and seem to have that team player vibe. Blast a PM my way if you have questions.
I'd love to help. If I dont know the answer then I'll point you to someone who does. Hope to see you around, more.
Nice! Now that my account has been validated I can come here to give you all a hearty and much delayed "Hello!". *waves*
To the ones I've already met in game and with whom I've shared a couple of encounters, thank you very much. Our decision to come here has been a rewarding one already.

Oh, now I get the robot talk. You were indeed a machine there speaking to us. Nice going, man. And thanks for the kind words. Even though everyone studied the rules and Disco's overall proceedings pretty hard (I thank Tequilla for scouting ahead for us), I'm sure we'll be needing a hand here and there. So thanks again and I'll taking your offer on that, so prepare your inbox.:D
Right now our plan is to stick together (pretty much because most of us don't have that much time to play and would end up spreading ourselves too thin if we were to go out and start joining other factions). That doesn't mean, though, that we won't be mingling around with the people we'll be around with (namely the Corsairs and our eventual contestants). RPing is about interaction after all, isn't it?
We are aware that we are the newbies here and we acknowledge the fact that we have much to learn. We'll do our best to be humble around everyone, respect the server and the community's rules (both written and agreed upon) and have fun.
Also, I'd like to both thank and apologize for yesterday. You see, even though we are newbies in Discovery, we are not newbies to role playing. We are all hard core RPers in fact. I can vouch for everyone in our group and say that we are all cool people. However, in game we are, as Tequilla so eloquently said, "blood-thirsty Corsair brigands". Expect us to stick to that concept and to those characters while in game. That's mostly why we decided it would be a good idea to post both our group's profile and a little introductory story right away. That way you guys can understand what you're dealing with without any hard feelings. As we (me, Tequilla and Hotel) have noticed yesterday, this may prove to be a trickier thing than we've imagined. We're all willing to try, though. We're also excited about the chance of perhaps bringing along with us something new and authentic.
Finally (as much as I hate to say this in my very first message to the community) we've detected something of a tendency towards us. A lot of rule lawyering and breaking have been thrown our way. I reckon people are taking us for newbies (which we are) and think they can get away with messing up around us (which they don't). We all have been playing RP games for a long time now and we fully understand that to properly play these games, you have to understand the rules. So no, we are not ignorant to Discovery's rules. We did our homework. I'm saying this because I reckon we're all here for the good times. I really like playing my character and don't want to disrupt everyone else's fun in an RP server stepping out of it inside the game to discuss rules. I won't be responding open "//" marked chat and I reckon the rest of the guys won't be doing so either. The rules are written and are clear enough. If you see any of us in game and you figure we're breaking the rules somehow; please, either contact us privately if you feel like educating, or just file a report if you feel like punishing. Don't disrupt everyone else's fun to bicker about rules inside the game. I, for myself, will be treating anyone behaving like that as a crazy person. That may just worsen things, I know, but I see no other way for me to deal with it while sticking to my character.
All in all, I'd like to thank to the creators of this mod for the superb work I've seen here so far. I'd like to thank the players from here for keeping the game alive, it seems Discovery is the last haven for Freelancers. And finally, I'd like to thank chance for letting this final haven be a role playing server.
