Its not insane. I mean, the compat system and ID's prevent total oorp combos, but the SRP system makes sure you're gonna come up with some RP for your 'out of the norm' combo (not just wing it after installing the mod for the first time) and follow through on that. With the insurance you will be taking it seriously, this is what SRP's are best for for.

Make sure you got some really good explanation, a lot of background history, some forum RP, and a lot of money at hand for when things don't go the way you want.

I saw a thread where this particular ship was discussed as being underutilised, with some suggestion that it should be used in exactly the manner you describe. This would make a great unlawful train (I still think copying the ship and having a rusty/Junker-like skin duplicate would be awesome).
