Hello! I'm hoping you know who I am, but my name is Peter Hudson! I brought forth a project to the Research and Development department of Bowex with blue prints of a new vessel that has been put into production recently. I have acquired blue prints for the "Bustard" Civilian Light Carrier and the Research and Development department have given me a list of materials required to build this vessel. The required information can be found here:

Good Evening Mr.Hudson. You're right we haven't met, it is a pleasure to meet you.
Looking for new jobs?! Always, pushing the boundaries is what we are all about, and... well... it's nice to know the other divisions know we exist *taps an empty inbox tray with his stylus*.
Needless to say myself and a team of our best boffins have been pouring over the blueprints you sent us. Frankly, we are very excited about this proposed "Bustard" Civilian Light Carrier. The plans look solid, and the concept has passed stage 1 feasibility testing (bear in mind more will be needed later on down the road).
We have drafted an inventory of the materials we are going to have to acquire if we are to begin constructing the first prototype. The details are in the data packet below *data packet received*. We have broken the inventory down into different elements.
After each stage is completed, they shall have to be put through testing before being approved.
As we assume such an acquisition task is an easy obstacle for the Trade Fleets, we have already taken the liberty of allocating one of the dry-docks on Scarborough for construction and are awaiting the components.
Please do send us some receipts for these shipments as well. Our accountants... well, they scare the willies out of me.

This vessel has sparked the interest of many people in the Research and Development department. The uses of this ship are completely endless. Just think about it, a small mobile base for Bowex with multiple hangers. The vessel could be used in conjunction with BMM miners, providing safety and a place to dock. Escort wings would be docked onto that ship to further the protection of the miners. Just imagine this vessel accompanying our trade vessels with multiple Bowex and maybe Armed Forces pilots docked to provide cover when moving commodities. Just imagine a diplomatic vessel used for boosting our relationships with other factions across Sirius, traveling too or holding high level meetings! The Research and Development department could use it as a mobile research station. The possibilities are endless.
Can we get the "Green Light" to proceed with construction please?

Good day to you enterprising employee,
I have to say, I've spent a significant portion of my time admiring the blueprints. As you have said, the possibilities are bloody endless. I specifically like the projections for handling MOX consumption, and the storage system for resupplying fighter and bomber craft. It even has enough space to fit all the bits and bobs necessary to repair and rearm the old Waran models! Perfection, if I have ever seen it. That said, it would still be best if you involved our security personnel in the testing phases. I believe our consultants are well qualified and will have much to add.
Congratulate the boffins on my part and consider this project fully backed by the department of Exploration and Security. We posses the resources and expertise to field and maintain such a ship, and I believe it will be an invaluable asset for all departments of Borderworlds Exports.

Mr Hudson, a pleasure to hear from the lads from R&D again. I've many trips there in my years with Bowex. I'd be glad to see what I can do for them.
The prospect of a "Civilian" carrier is amusing to me. "Carrier" always conjures images of warships in my mind, but perhaps that would be beneficial to us at this time. I cannot deny, a wing of ExSec ready to fly and fight at the drop of a hat in a mining zone, or even on the Leeds frontier, is a promising prospect. Freighters and Transports aren't designed for combat, that's not to say our little Clydesdales and Shires don't pack quite the punch though.
All said, I think this is quite the investment we are making here, but likely a beneficial one. I'll see about reassigning some transports of all classes to your project immediately. I'll be watching closely to see how this goes. I'm very interested in seeing the final product..

Mr Hudson
With the assent of the other Directors, and Mr Cooper confirming the plans' viability, I am happy to provide my own approval and make arrangements for the freeing of berths on Scarborough. At a stretch we can make Berth 3 available for a maximum time frame of 1 month, and provide a construction crew of 50 with associated tools and robotics.
Should the project overrun this time window, I am afraid we will not be able to extend the lease on the berth's use. We have several vital construction contracts on the near horizon and we are running at peak capacity; postponement is not an option. Due to this, I would strongly recommend prioritizing the modules you need to get the vessel spaceworthy if not operational. At least then it could feasibly be towed to another facility for completion.
I also note that a substantial amount of Super Alloy is being requisitioned for the construction. Given that this vessel was not budgeted for in our annual accounts, the materials would need to be extracted from our export pool. Unfortunately, we rely on those exports to subsidize our operations here. Naturally they will need to be replaced: one unit of beryllium and aluminium will be needed for every two units of Super Alloy used.
I trust this is perfectly agreeable.

I didn't not think I'd get all of this support. Thank you, all! However, this time frame is tiny! We'll do our best, though. Expect everything you have asked for to be done!

Mr Hudson
I'm afraid some complications have arisen that are going to impact your project. Late yesterday evening we received word that one of our wartime convoys consisting of two Shires and a Percheron was ambushed by Lane Hackers in Magellan. The Percheron was entirely destroyed and the Shires heavily damaged. We need those ships operational and back in service as soon as possible.
Currently they're being patched on Freeport 4 until they're safe to tow through a jump gate. Once that is the case, they'll be recalled immediately to Scarborough for refitting and comprehensive repairs. Unfortunately, we're already tasked to maximum capacity and have no other non-critical projects in progress. Due to this, we're going to have to cut your project and reallocate the construction assets.
At the present time, what I am looking for is a status report on the carrier's progress so we can evaluate our next step. We probably have around 3 days until the Shires arrive and the carrier has to vacate. Beyond that point, we will be able to offer the vessel mooring space, but there will be no capacity for further construction. The repairs will probably be ongoing until the contract I mentioned originally comes into effect.
I would strongly suggest that all critical systems required to get the carrier jump gate-worthy are given the utmost priority. In the event that the hull is complete enough to tow, it may be worth offering contracts to various other shipbuilding entities in order to outsource the completion. Initially I would suggest shopping around at The Ring with DHC and Norfolk Shipyard with DSE. Should they be unable to take the contract or their facilities are found wanting, the search could of course be widened.
I expect that status report promptly, as well as an update as to your intended course of action. We'll need to budget for any project adjustments, after all.

No... no no no! Are you.. joking! *He stops and takes a small breather and composes himself* Is there any word out about the crews condition yet? We did not need this, not yet... 3 days... okay.
The Carrier's hull is complete, however there were a few small issues that we came across. An initial report about the hull was made by the Research and Development Director, Mr Cooper, and it can be located here. Not so long after, with extra materials, our engineers managed to complete the hull second time round without any hiccups. Mr Cooper wrote yet another report about it, bringing the good news to us all. This report can be found here.
Stage 2, the Main Reactor and Engines has been going for the past day or two now. There has been no official word on it's construction status, however rumors has it that this stage has been completed without a problem. We are currently waiting for the all clear by the R&D Director.
In the mean time, I will go ahead and contact both of these groups to find out potential rental rates for hangarage in their shipyards. I do hope this doesn't come to a pricey end and I really do hope that I can haggle the prices.

Dear Mr Hudson
Given the leading role you have taken in this project, and the fact that you are now having to conduct negotiations with external parties in pursuance of its completion, the executive decision has been made to promote you to the role of supervisor. This is both in recognition of the initiative you have displayed thus far, and to also allow you a small degree of operational latitude in completing your goal.
The various involved directors have conferred this status on the understanding that it should be a probationary appointment, until such a time as you have completed stages one though four junior management courses, and the carrier itself has been introduced into service. Director Brooks also appreciates your report, and regrets to inform you there were 19 casualties associated with the damaged convoy.

Now this was a rather large, yet nice surprise. Thank you very much, Ms Frances. Thank the board for me! Don't worry, you have not made a bad decision.
Oh my, that is a lot of people. My thoughts are with their family. I wish them all the best in their recovery.
