After i read this post an idea struck me where we all can do our own bit in advertising Disco.
I assume almost everybody uses Facebook.
What if we all, in a given time change our profile pic and cover photo, with a picture advertising Disco and keep it for say 1-3 months.
According to Statistics, The average Facebook user has about 338 friends. So if 10 people agree to do this, that means about 3380 people will know about discovery through the notification Facebook gives whenever you change your profile picture. Whenever you write on a person's post/wall his/her friends will see the pic as well and if the picture is interesting enough, chances are they will click to see what it is and know about discovery.
But wouldn't there be another issue to solve with the fact that it's nearly impossible to get FreeLancer anymore? i mean, i got my copy from ebay. and there are probbably still areas rarely found.
We need RPers to know about Disco.
Not some random retards on Facebook.
Go look at RP communities and throw this in if they have a dedicated forum for other games.
If you just spam this, it will be the same as spambots posting on our forum.
People tend not to enjoy that.

The fact Microsoft provides absolutely zero communication about Freelancer (they never reply to emails about it) definitely lead to think it is abandonware. The official website also ceased to exist several years ago.
I think it should be considered to provide a link to Freelancer's iso hosted on the iso zone until we -maybe- receive an email from microsoft asking us to remove that link. This would be very unlikely to happen in the first place.
Advertisement isn't a problem. I keep asking a lot of people from some games to start playing it, but it's hard to say if they will do it, or not. Some people aren't interested in Sci-Fi, some people aren't looking for such a possibilities, which are offered by Disco.
Freelancer is a good game - we all love it, but it doesn't mean that it can attract some new people.
Many people are just choosing better-looking games like Eve, Elite
Getting people to know about Freelancer doesn't mean that they will start playing, and even if the do, it doesn't mean that they will stay there for longer than a few hours, or even minutes
It's just difficult to get some people for longer to such a old game. Thanks to Devs for every update and adding many possibilities, but Freelancer is still a Freelancer. Some people just don't get it
We did use to host a FL.ISO on the server at some point, though it was not for public use.
So I really doubt this would interfere with laws or server hosting rules, unless specifically stated.
Perhaps it is time to integrate a Discovery Freelancer ISO, as a standalone game, just like Project Reality for BF2 did.

Potentially more useful than Facebook: make a post on Imgur about Freelancer and Discovery, then have as many people as possible from here upvote it at the same time. 50 votes as soon as it goes live should be enough to get it onto UserSub's "rising" tab, which'll get more attention from other people.
Thread carefully, Jammi.
Been a part of Imgur for a while and there have been plenty of gaming communities who were burned to the ground for trying to use imgur as a free ad service.

Depends how you phrase it. They might be amenable to helping us blanket bombard Microsoft with emails asking about a digital release for Freelancer.
