On behest of the newly arisen Exalted Guildmaster of the Core Matt Bishop, I am contacting you to renew a steady diplomatic channel between our organisations, as our previous relationship has been, sadly so, rather neglected. To spare everyone the time of reading through a tirade of diplomatic flowery phrases, I shall be brief.

We understand the struggle that House Kusari is going through at the moment — the civil war. The Core offers its support, be it logistically, scientifically, or more directly with actual forces, if such an involvement were wanted from your part. Furthermore, the Core can offer intel and access to several remote Omicron system, barring Rho, if such expeditions by the KNI were to be desired.

Before we continue, however, the Core would like to hear what your own take on an extended cooperation might be.

We apologise for the delay. It is indeed true that our organizations' relations have been quite stagnant as of late. The Kusari Naval Intelligence welcomes the notion of co-operating still, but the extent of these remains to be discussed.

It is quite pleasing to hear that the Core is willing to extend a helping hand on the civil war in Kusari, but know that Kusari does not like foreign elements handling the House's own problems for them. Nevertheless, that is a matter with the Naval Forces more than the Naval Intelligence - I would recommend contacting the Forces branch if you wish to delve further into the topic.

However, co-operation outside of the Republic would likely be beneficial for both of our organizations. We are aware that the Omicrons are 'treasure trove' of unique elements and technology that could prove incredibly useful for the progress of Kusari. We would be willing to arrange expeditions into the Outer Rim, if the Core would be willing to provide map and route data. We would like to negotiate the terms of this, provided your organization is willing.

I've mentioned that the Omicrons are home to a vast pile of untapped resources and possibly the keys to unlocking access to new technology. We are, in particular, incredibly interested in a specific purple gas that was coined "Azurite". if the Core has any knowledge of where to obtain this gas, or would be willing to procure them for our organization - I'm certain we would be able to come to agreement that where both parties will be pleased. Ofcourse, if you have any other oddities from the Omicrons that the Core would be interested in offering, we will review and discuss whether we can find use for them and seek out an arrangement. That would be all from the logistics aspect.

Esteemed Mr. Shoni,

On behalf of the Core and the Exalted Guildmaster, I thank you for your reply. Be assured that the Core has no interest in subverting the supreme authority of the Republic over its own domain. We have already figured that negotiations about operations that might be construed as such would necessitate discussing with the Naval Forces, which is why this channel is open to both the Naval Forces and the Naval Intelligence.

Let us speak about things that, as you so fittingly put it, benefit us both: Operations outside of the Republic. The deeper Omicron region has always been our turf, and as such, we are privy to some of the more eldritch nuances thereof, which might come in handy indeed in case of joint operations of our two organisations. We would be willing to provide sophisticated data about these regions in case it becomes necessary.

It is a true coicidence that you mentioned Azurite. The Core is indeed aware of and contesting the source thereof with the Nomads. It is a wonderous material that bears the potential for better insight into Nomadic technology than anyone should have had previously. If the Republic is interested in obtaining a generous amount of this substance, the Core extends the offer to lead an armed transport plus escorts to the source to retrieve it.

There is one more issue. The Core has been contacted by a third party recenty, which sparked our interest in the actual heart of the Nomad worlds. We observed several house military vessels of various sizes leave from that direction and also seek refuge on our installations. The Core would like to investigate what could have warranted such a surge of interest for these parties and therefore proposes an excursion into aforementioned heart to ascertain the relevancy of that which has drawn all this attention. Of course, any knowledge that the Republic might possess and would be willing to impart on us regarding this might make such an excursion wholly superfluous.

The news of House vessels exiting Nomad systems en-masse is new to us. Were any of these vessels of Kusarian origin? The situation sounds extremely suspicious - were they not subverted agents of the Nomads themselves?

While we have no information to give, these news certainly sparked an interest in our higher hierarchy. There was heated debate during the past few days, coming to the conclusion that we would be willing to extend a helping hand and send a few of our own Naval Intelligence craft to reinforce and participate as part of this expedition into the 'actual heart of the Nomad worlds', as it has been put. It would potentially answer our own questions that we have raised about recent events, as well as forward our understanding of how the aliens operate away from civilization. This, ofcourse, would only happen provided the Core agrees to our offer of assistance.

Now, onto Azurite. It is exhilarating to hear that there is indeed a source that is possible to be tapped into for this specific gas. Our science teams would be thrilled to receive an industrial amount of the substance to work with. If the Core would give us the route data required to reach the area, I'm certain that we will be able to send a few transports to retrieve the material back to our research stations.

We will welcome additional transports from the Core as well, along with a generous fee from the quartermasters themselves. I'm certain the Core won't be handing this material for free, however. Will you require additional compensation for the gathering of this substance, or something more specific?

We hope the Core will find our offers suitable, and will wait for your reply.

Esteemed Mr. Shoni,

The situation regarding those house vessels had us just as baffled as you seemed to have been. Of course, we were not able to grant them help, even if entreated, for they might have been undermined by Nomadic influences. Nevertheless, I have looked through our records and we were not able to accurately discern any callsigns or other characteristica that might serve to identify the vessels that left the Omicron Minor system, which is why we were hoping that you might know something that we do not, just in case we are dealing with a gross affront to our superiority over our own domain here. I am glad such is not the case, and we can therefore commence to destroy any Kusari vessels that failed to announce their presence in Omicronis beforehand, since they are evidently piloted by infested personnel.

Which would lead us to the second point. The Core is willing to cooperate with the Naval Intelligence to stage reconnaisance missions in the Omicrons during the course of which we shall impart the location of the harvestable Azurite Gas with your agents for examination at home. Be advised that the location is oftentimes heavily guarded and it would therefore be prudent to send only one heavily defended transport to be filled with the substance, which would need to be coordinated with the Core beforehand as well.

Of course, the Core is looking into commercially distributing the substance, as it is practically on our doorstep, but those efforts have so far not come to fruition yet. However, smaller, requisitioned amounts can be arranged. Nothing on an industrial scale, but usable amounts for scientific research are very well within the realm of possibilities. If you so desire, we would ask you to propose a date on which our forces could meet to extract the substance. You would then be led to the location by us.

We are happy that you are willing to begin so readily. We will be fitting and preparing an armoured transport for its voyage into the Omicrons, I estimate that the transport and its patrols will be ready in the next few days. This leads us to offer a time that our organization finds acceptable:

Provided you agree to the schedule, we will be waiting for Core to arrive to Akita Border Station on the 3rd of September at 1800 Standard Sirius Time. After our forces meet up, they will move on towards the Azurite Gas source that you have mentioned and begin collection. We will have our own escort wing with us, in case of any dangers appearing. Is this acceptable?

If this operation is completed without issue, we will be willing to organize a more steady stream of import of the substance. Provided that is possible with the current situation at hand, that is.

Likewise, we would like to learn move about your Omicron Major expedition that you have mentioned. We will need to investigate these appearances of capitals of House origin more in depth, provided we are granted permission to field ships independently or along with your expedition.

The Core agrees to your proposed schedule. A delegation of snubcraft shall meet your forces at Akita Border Station and escort them into the Omicrons for the purposes of collecting the gaseous Azurite substance. Note that we are unable to extend capital ship support before we reach Omicronis since we intend no infringement upon the sovereign space of the GMG in the Sigma systems. Depending on the success of this operation, we will consider allocating housing and supplies for your forces at one of our external installations in order to establish a forward operating base for your operatives to stage operations into Nomad space as their superiors see fit. On that note, we cannot allow potentially infested personal on our turf, and anyone entreating entrace will be rigorously checked for anomalies to ascertain the safety of those around them.
