The video transmission showed Michael Dean, Vice President of Interspace, in front of a window located on the Monopoly. The window was showing the busy Manhattan traffic and the planet was filling out the whole view.
"To the board of the Core or the current President." He got up with a confused expression he had probably practiced a hundred times. "I actually know surprisingly little about the current state of the Core. Maybe enlighten me about it after we got down to business."
"You surely know about that station we have in Manhattan's orbit. Well as it appears we need about 30.000 units of Iridium." He said as if it was no big deal.
"You see, the current Administration decided to pay 4.000credits per unit delivered and who else would we offer this first than the Core?" His arms open to slightly underline Interspace's generosity.
"We hope you will agree to these terms and fulfill this as soon as possible."
This is Guildkeeper Lyell of the Core and I have been entreated to deal with your request. Normally, such matters would be handled by the APM Board of Directors, but before they do, the file has to be approved by one of the two current Guildkeepers, which are the Hands of the Exalted Guildmaster and supreme authority of the Core. Needless to say: It was greenlit and the Board of Directors has agreed to your terms. You may expect the shipments to arrive within the next three days, which is our usual modus operandi when handling vast shipments of Iridium. Of course, granting our ships docking permission is expected of you, and should our ships be denied upon arrival, they will simply turn around and your contract be dropped immediately. In return for your efforts, we guarantee the meticulous cataloguing of the shipments for later review from your part to ensure your demand has been met.
Do you think I was joking when I said that we would drop you should our transports be denied access? Now, I do not know how you normally do business, but one would expect that you bring everything in order before contacting your business partner.
we are uncertain as to why your captain wasn't able to dock on the installation. We had granted access to any and all Core ships beforehand. We would like to urge you to retry. Maybe your captain was flying the wrong identifier in which case it really wouldn't have been possible.
If you encounter any further problems please contact me again.
Is that your idea of an apology? I have to say: I am quite speechless. First you waste our time by not providing the correct docking permissions in time, and now you dare imply that it might actually been our fault? I think my ear drums are damaged!
Regardless, my own sentiments hardly matter here. Still, there is the matter of wasted time that you have to compensate. I am willing to pull a few strings for you and remove you from the list of unreliable businesspartners if the aforementioned installation raise its generosity to 5.500 SC per unit of Iridium.
Also: It is Ms. Lyell — preferably just 'madame', though.
I was just talking with Mister Dean who then had me ask around quite a bit around the company. Interspace is not willing to pay anymore than 5.000cr for a mistake neither Station Administration nor Technical Administration are aware of for being on our side. So this is actually a rather generous offer.
He also asked how low the price of an APM vehicle would be for Interspace at this point. What is the factory price for a small group of fighters and maybe one- ah- Gunship. Yes that was what he wanted. I am not asked what for but he also said that it shouldn't matter but he might consider setting an Interspace Executive to overwatch APM's activities.
The proposed price seems adequate. Once adopted, shipments shall resume.
On the topic of APM vessels: We are offering two ways for customers to procure them. The first way would be an upfront payment in cash, with which APM shall procure the material and build the vessel. The second would necessitate the costomer to deliver the material themselves if they want to, plus a little extra, which would make any further payments superfluous. A vessel of gunship size, in either case, needs some time to be constructed. I would assume that it would take two to three months.
