I'm not sure if this should be here or Mod discussion, but I'd like to make a suggestion:

Perhaps they should finally let larger ships be able to dock at the Leeds Resistance base now, since Bretonia has manage to hold on so long, perhaps there has been some head way made in the supply situation? Oubli has been oublié'd, so let players act out the blockade from here on in. Besides larger ships making runs to Leeds now would make for good escort opportunities and mean more traffic to patrol for both sides. Why not transports with cargo holds up to 1200 or even 2000? It would open it up to new traders and those just exploring or passing by. This would also bring gunboats back into the frey which would be nice.

Pelicans at least for God's sakes!

To bloody hell with 2K, just jam it to 5. Powertrading to the maximum, GRN embargo control up, BAF to the rescue, laser that godforsaken system into a blooming Brown Giant.

Opening it up to larger transports would make it more accessable but then you'd lose the huge credit bonus for selling there. Seriously, blackmarket weapons sold there have a 1,000 credit per sec/unit profit, even regular side and light arms go for twice the regular contraband price, same with military vehicles.

Honestly I'd wait to see what the new freighter rework brings before making any changes, those routes could be a lifeline for the most underused ship class in Disco.

Mates, the Resistance Base has atmospheric entry only. Considering the mass and shape (bulky and not at all streamlined) of most larger transports they'd likely light up in real world conditions (granted that Leeds is somewhat like Earth in terms of atmospheric density, gravity, turn, etc). Then again, i might be mistaken - if so, put me out of my misery ;)

Personally i see a great RP advantage not being able to dock anything bigger than a freighter (mind you, you can't even dock a bloody spatial!) - being that you have to cooperate in order to deliver the goods and make a nice profit. I did participate in a few such ops as the middleman and enjoyed every little bit of it (mostly the constant danger of getting by BMM Clydesdale ambushed by an NPC battlecruiser party, besides the nice roleplay experience per se).

So don't take it the wrong way, but i vote no! - it's perfect as it is.

I honestly quite agree with this. I'd rather have MORE atmospheric entry points in various planets around Sirius that only freighters can land, for the artifact and liquid cardi trade in Manhattan, Black Market Munitions from Planet New Berlin to Crete, etc. Really illegal goods that come from pirate/unlawful factions that go to planets.

Good arguments all around. To me its just that well a freighter is typically not considered a high value target for anyone, and they are harder to kill. If larger ships were going to be coming and going from the Magellan and Manchester jumpholes a lot more often, so might the GRN have more incentive to patrol down there. From that BAF and allies would also have a bit more reason to do the same. Right now freighters are able to get in and out pretty easy these days, there's not much challenge. Larger ships with much more value to the cargo would be worth more effort being put in on all sides. There's also higher chances of interception.

You should see how planetary docking works in the Freeworlds mod. Perfect for smuggling, you can land anywhere on a planet and follow an approach vector down to the surface. If you follow it right once you hit 200m you dock. You could fly up to the dark side of any planet and come in for a landing. Navy/police would actually have to patrol around planets to make sure you couldn't get by. Either way yeah it would be nice to see more alternate landing sites just about everywhere for smaller scale smuggling.

Ok, the idea of various planetary landing points (maybe in fact all around the planet) is interresting - i give you that.

Still, sonsidering the subject at hand, the GRN shouldn't really give a bloody fudge how big a ship approaches the Resistance Base entry point - they should block Bret-freindly traffic altogether, regardless of shipsize or type of cargo. That what the Navy is for, isn't it? They don't cound profits, they're simply conducting duty (of at least are supposed to).

I for once would love to see the GRN go after my poor little BMM Clydesdale full of supplies for the brave lads down on Leeds. Yet i somehow manage go slip past player battleships without even being bothered (and i'm not going like 30k above plane, just using the regular tradelanes).

The thing is, few people really go into playing the Gallic side - except for some scheduled event browls. I honestly don't have a clue yet on how to change that - bit i shall give it an honest thought.

I think it all boils down to the RP-initiative of the individual player.

Sorry for the noob question but where on earth can I find this base?

Mind you I have not managed to get close to Leeds yet, I have been chased away twice and killed once by player GRN ships. I checked wiki but there is nothing.

The resistance base is opposite the docking ring. Its represented by a "glowing" white hologram. If you jump in from Manchester or Magellen you should see it if you fly towards the planet
