Hello Guildsmen!
I have exciting news!
Dr.Vale and I got our mobile laboratories equipped and decided to embark on the first stage of our Journey.
It was quite the harrowing experience, to be sure! We departed from Jakarta, and made a stop at Battleship Hood to pick up a few things. Then we proceeded on to Freistadt Base. Then the fun began. We decided to take a trip through Omega 5 then Omega 41. The neutron star there is as beautiful a sight as any I have seen.
From there we proceeded to Omicron Theta. We stopped at the Freeport there, and repaired/resupplied our vessels, as well as got news from the locals. It was here we met the Captain of the Arlais, a Zoner Juggernaugt.
Arlais had heard of a place where there is abundant Iridium deposits and agreed to show us where it was, as well as escort us through Omicron-74. He told us that to go through 74 unescorted would mean certain death unless we ask the Omicroners for permission. On the other side of the system was a Jump Hole to a system the Zoners call Omicron Kappa.
We were attacked by none other than the Nomads! Arlais informed us that these were only the inexperienced ...beings, not the elite units that sometimes make it as far as Dublin. It was quite a relief I can tell you! And I learned something else, Dr. Vale is quite the pilot, she dispatched several of the Nomad vessels with ease! Here are the surviellance pictures of our encounter:
We were able to beam in the remains from some of these vessels, for further study. Thank goodness Arlais was with us!
And finally we made it to Omicron Delta, where we found a large field of Iridium! I am including the location of this field and a scan of both the Iridium samples and the Nomad remains.
I will keep you apprised of any new developments or discoveries. Looking forward to more fieldwork in the days to come!
