Hudson Reporting:
Didn't think I'd be reporting in again so soon, but a few things have gone down that warrant it. After being instructed to reach out again to the Apostatas, we made arrangements for a field meeting to touch base with their leadership, exchange information and deliver them some funds to contribute towards their operations. This seemed like a good opportunity to beef them up so they can be well set up for helping us in Omega-49. Not only that, but they claimed to have made some important discoveries in the Omicrons that we would find interesting. We tried arranging to bring a researcher but it was decided we might be better off taking a look before bringing in an outside party.
We met up with them at Freeport 9, and followed them across Omicron Kappa and Delta to 'Omicron Lost', an even more remote system where human exploration meets the Nomads. Although already charted in the past, some new features were noted. They took us to an anomaly at the southern pole of the gas Giant Planet Moros. Likely it's a vortex allowing for atmospheric entry. Still, they believed no human design could handle entering so we kept a safe distance and took basic scans. They hadn't confirmed it is used by Nomads, or if it originated with them, or something else. Planet Moros polar anomaly
Then we moved to a collection of debris that resembled an old station mixed with some random ship parts. Parts of it were powered and active, and they were leaning towards the liklihood its an AI construct. Gammu AI comes to mind, but we'd need an expert present to safely communicate with the station and ascertain that. Unknown AI(?) structure
Their last discovery was of a spatial anomaly on the other side of the system. To their surprise though, it was gone. There was no sign of it anymore, and it left us with a bit of a mystery. They claimed to have data proving it was there, so we started getting nervous and began to pack things up.
At that time, we all received a subspace burst from Dr. Lexa Moreno from Omicron Delta about the discovery of another anomaly back over in that system, and that she was assembling a volunteer expedition to enter and investigate. We immediately made the trek back to Delta where we found several Core and Zoner vessels already gathered, and Dr. Moreno in her Corvo. Rendezvous with deep space expedition
Although unexpected, Agent Skirka and I, and the Apostatas didn't hesitate to offer assistance to the Doctor and joined the escort. After a large group gathered, we all entered and wound up in a strange, and as far as i know, previously unknown system. According to stellar cartography, cofirmed by Dr. Moreno, the system was far from Sirius, on the periphery space between our galaxy and another.
More anomalies were discovered at a nearby gas giant and we secured the area while the Doctor made scans. Without want to risk leaving these unknown phenomena for likely use by the Nomads, she set to work closing the anomalies one by one using some kind of energy field projection technology I'm not familiar with.
One by one though, Nomad ships did arrive suddenly, and in large numbers, when we attempted to close these 'fissures'. Us humans did stick it out quite well though, despite a lot of frayed nerves. Several battles ensued as we hopped from one to the other. Eventually we did close them all and I believe most ships survived, and any jettisoned pilots were recovered by the large vessels.
At that time, the Doctor informed us the anomaly we arrived through was dangerously close to collapsing, potentially leaving us stranded there...indefinitely. That would have been interesting, with the mix of ships we had out there, as to how long we would have survived over the long term. Thankfully, we did manage to make it out in time, and arrived safely back to Delta. There, Dr. Moreno shared with us much of the Scientific Data that she had accumulated though here scans, and all parties took copies of the valuable data before departing. With the alien threat now lowered, the motly crew of various factions that had arrived broke up, and some even began to get hostile because they had converged to investigate. As we departed, we last saw a Coalition capital vessel get into a skirmish with a Libertonian battleship and Core capital asset.
We figured it best to head back to the Apostatus base of operations. There we each received some rare biosamples of Cryo Organisms and an small quantity of the lesser understood Azurite Gas. I also delivered to them 200 million credits in aid to help them maintain their operations and perhaps purchase some mining ships. We took some leave and then made our way back to Bretonia on our own time. Since we didn't have the ability in our craft to carry much of the data we were offered, the Doctor was kind enough to forward us our copies (100 standard units each), which should bring us some excellent opportunities in the future. Also , the Cryo Organisms and Azurite Gas samples can be made available at Sunderland Research Station for SIS/BAF R&D, for further study of military applications. Aid Transfer and Samples
All in all, much of those events were unexpected but resulted in a successful journey and meeting with our allies the Apostatas. The entire trip may have yielded a great deal of data that might help with the war effort. For the meantime, I'll be in the vicinity of New London to stay in close range of the neural net.
Standing by,
Agent Hudson Her Majesty's Secret Intelligence Service, Bretonia
