Not so long ago I had an idea, which, I believe, can help our Republic in the future. I hope you will not care.
Well. Listen to this.

Our Republic is really strong, in a sense, but we have 3 destroyed stations. Some died as a result of accidents, and some - as a result of attacks by our enemies. I propose to start projects to restore them. So, what I propose to restore:

Itaka Research Station

Once this station was our ray of light in the Badlands. But now this station is resting near the gateway to Pennsylvania:

What will we achieve by rebuilding the station:

1) We will strengthen our control in Badlands. Traders will be more easily able to get to the hiding place from pirates, and it will be more difficult for pirates to destroy trade-ships.
2) New research: Badlands have more than one secret that we will have to disclose. How many ships were lost in these places? How many can we find people who have disappeared many years ago, if we restore this station? And how many we will save?
3) Provision of supply: with the help of this station we will be able to improve the traffic of cargo transportation from Pennsylvania to New York.

San Diego Border Station

This station was destroyed because of Gallic Royal Navy invading our systems:

What will we achieve if we restore this station:

1) Strengthening our borders: the station will serve as customs and defense point from the attacking forces from the Magellan system ( Gallia, for example ).
2) Strengthening trade relations with Bretonia: now or we deliver ammunition to them, or they deliver their ships to us through lend-lease. This station will only help in the safety of shipments from Bretonia to Liberty. And the trade-ships going from Magellan to the planets in California will be safer, knowing that the lines of trade are between stations that are ready to help them at any time.

Red Deer Station

This station was attacked and destroyed. But what if you restore it?

What will we achieve by rebuilding this station:

1) Strengthening the presence in Alberta: the station underwent a pirate attack and was destroyed. If we restore it, we can again prevent the pirates from carrying out attacks in this system right near the gates. But if the attack happened, traders will be able to quickly get to the station to dock and be rescued.
2) Customs: now Alberta is not protected from transporting illegal goods from / to the system. Having restored the station, we can check all the ships for contraband.
3) Stock: Alberta is just mastering. Now in Ontario there are already full-fledged trade lines. Having restored the station, we will be able to speed up the construction of trade lines in this system, providing builders with a more convenient place to collect and transport materials to the site of construction of any objects in this system. And large corporations will not be against using their goods for sale at this station.

I recommend to consider this idea. If in some countries I saw how illegal groups seized legitimate stations and kept them under their control, then I see how the stations are being destroyed and even no one is going to restore them.

If you think that damage and the required materials for recovery will be difficult to calculate ( not to mention their deliveries ), then here we can use the Ageira Technologies ( to calculate the damage and the required materials ), DSM ( for the crews to repair ) and USI ( for delivery of materials to the place of repair ).
