I don't really know much about Sovereign. I know he's dedicated at whatever he chooses to do, and he's kept his head above water and out of trouble. That speaks for something.
Altejago has seriously mellowed out since the previous days. We've all known him for having a temper, but who doesn't? He has been around long enough and has the dedication for managing the off hours of the night with his timezone, and he deserves a chance like everyone else.
Implosion I don't know very well either. No real comment besides being around for a while and knowing what he's doing.
Sand Spider and Venkman I have no comment.
SMI-Great Fox no comment.
Shooter is a smart guy. He's capable and diligent enough to fit the role of staff.
The last time Dimon was an admin, he was using someone else's SRP engine on his wild ship without asking its creator and because it looked cool. If I recall, he wasn't a very good member of the team, and I don't think it'll be a good fit this time around either.
Shaggy is unstable and 'leaves' the community frequently. The constant flip flopping would ultimately be harmful to the team.
Zyl no comment.
If I missed anyone, I'm on mobile.
For the record, I'm not applying for the position. Not because of any particular reason that merits writing down. I just don't want to.
I'd like to get into staff team. I could have time and dedication. The fear is that once obtained the task I could have suddently less time. Now you know that I'm a paranoic person... as well as realist

Don't be fooled by lengthy paragraphs of text where community members try to proclaim how much they rank on the sunshine-and-rainbows-o-meter.
This community needs mods that DO, not mods that DON'T. There seems to be a consistent pattern in recruitment where ultimately, at least half of the recruited pool don't pull their weight, dumping stress and workload on the rest of the team. This isn't a call to recruit people that want an orange name and a title to go with it, but for people who genuinely care about Discovery and want to help out.
It needs people who are maybe looking at a spot on the admin team, but not for their own personal ambitions but because they want to eventually incite positive change and make a difference.
Mods should be picked based on their merits and how many times they have shown helpfulness and selflessness in the community. They should be popular not because they post the dankest memes within their circlejerks, but because they're an actually likable individual.
So pick wisely, admins and community. It's a turbulent time for the community. Discovery needs heroes.
Sadly, by default I think I'd be eliminated from the runnings, whether I'm on Probation or not.
