With that, Fischer stood up and moved toward a desk, situated against one of the far walls. He picked up the old fashion phone and made a call to the ward assistant's checkpoint on the lower levels. Scott in the meantime began detailing what it is they would be doing to the lady in front of them.
''It's completely painless, so don't worry about that. What we want to do is just take a few scans of your brain and then we will have a look to see if there are any abnormalities. Now all of this should be rather quick...'' he continued to regale her with the details before the medical team arrived.
''It is at this point that we leave you for now my lady'' Fischer said after letting the 4 orderly's in the room ''We will see you again after the scan.''
An older orderly spoke with a cheery voice ''Two of us are qualified love, these two are undergoing training'' she said with a wide smile ''now don't let them bother you, they're just here to watch for the time being. Come along with us, doctor Patrick's is waiting for you and she's a sweetheart, you shouldn't have anything to worry about at all. Have these two Gentlemen explained what we are going to do?'' she continued as the 4 medical staff led her out the door to the radiography department.
''Don't you worry about a thing now, we'll be right here if you need anything, if it feels uncomfortable, you just let us know and we'll sort it out for you.''
"I am not worried.. and yes I am informed. You are going to scan my brain." said Megaera as she was observing the layout of the complex, memorising the way she came in.
"So... what was the real reason I am here though. I understand it is more than just curiousity."
The older woman smiled at her question, and began explaining as they approached a room marked Room 476- Radiography examinations ''I don't much know the inner workings of people minds my dear, but I can assure you, if there is a reason other than curiosity, it is only to help you. The hospital is not in the business of making peoples lives miserable and in a universe where death is common, that's not such a bad thing is it?''
The group entered the room where a tall, young red haired lady stood in a clean white coat at the center of the room, she smiled as Megaera entered. She walked calmly over to the group and stretched out her hand in greeting ''Hello'' she spoke with a distinctive Irish accent ''I trust all has been explained to you, I am doctor Racheal Paticks, If you would be so kind as to step out if your clothes and please put these on'' She said as one of the orderlies handed her a hospital gown and directed her to a small changing room where she could undress in private.
"I will keep my clothes on. Do not think I will expose myself in such a manner. Besides, How does a brainscan require me to discard my clothing? I smell something fishy about all this..."
She looks at doctor Paticks and tries to read her face. Her own face shows little emotion.
The doctor's smile wavered for a moment, before resuming it's customary warmth. ''Well, I suppose we can make an exception for you, please lay down on the table and we will begin. We will be examining your brain function, It should be painless but you may experience a slight tingling sensation, don't be alarmed, that is perfectly normal as well.''
She lays down on the table and stares at the ceiling.
"So this is the the hub of information of the Bretonians?
Make sure it does not fall into the wrong hands. That could be problematic."
She shifts her position abit to make herself more comfortable.
"Remember. When reviewing security protocol... literally anything can happen at any time.
Which pretty much happens around me alot. Okay, I will be quiet now and let you do your thing"
''This is a hospital, one of the best, I can assure you that all information on all patients is strictly confidential. And there is no 'security protocol' at least not in the sense you are thinking off. It's a matter of professional privacy, you've nothing to worry about.'' The doctor said as the machine began to take Megaera in and scan her brain. Racheal looked at the scan from behind a radiation proof booth and noted some considerable damage to the brain. After a while, she deemed the scans complete and turned the machine off
''Well, that was all very eventful, it seems you have a minor amount of brain damage, so how about we go back to my office and we can talk about it?'' she said. The cause of her brain damage required closer inspection, it wasn't in the nature of Racheal to guess, there were a few possibilities of course, some more likely than others, but it would be better for everyone if Megaera could explain how she came to have such an injury.
