There are many factions that have official status, but do not organize any operations/having no activity even in the Message Dump. I think that within 3 months of inactivity on the part of this faction, it must be deprived of its official status or the replacement of the leader by a more active member of the faction (with his consent, otherwise the transition to an unofficial level).
I understand that officialdom should be taken after a certain amount of time with no activity. However, I feel like there are factions which can be official even without spending so much time in the game. When "Logging for fun" becomes "Logging to get the faction activity done", players feel less motivated to play. I experienced that on myself multiple times and in different games. Forum activity (roleplay) should be taken into account when judging a factions' activity, too. Unfortunately, that's pretty much not possible as you can't really measure quality and quantity of roleplay. In my opinion, there shouldn't be an activity check relying solely on ingame activity, but it should be encouraged to have multiple factions of the same ID "battling" for officialdom. What needs to be replaced simply gets replaced. It's not like official factions that are there but no ingame hurt anyone.
Here the role of motivation is important. I have already noticed more than once that most people come just for the sake of "pew-pew", while the server also has RP elements. But all the reconciliation is to create a firefight, finish it and leave the game in anticipation of the next shootout.
For example, in BDM| there is much to be done. There they are encouraged for military merit, and ranks (for which I was a witness) are given for activity, and there is something to do besides shooting.
And to create once a month an operation and call all the participants of the faction there is not so difficult. A couple of days are enough to organize everything. It is still faster, if you try. It is possible, in the end, to come up with various motivating tasks. For example, why is the Bounty Board in Liberty only for Bounty Hunters and Police? Why can not the military send applications there? Of course, the military is one who fights not for money, but for the interests of his state, but let's be realistic: this is one of the ways to induce them to act.
In addition, we have leaders who have already stayed too long at their posts and do not give it to other, really active people. I would not create my sixth fleet, if Arbs acted. I would not fight Harmony, as it is now, but do I have a choice? There is nowhere else to fight, except there. Although, my faction provides for other tasks, I simply do not have a choice and that's all. Of course, this contradicts my words above, but I care about the future of mod and server.
Previously, people came for the RP. Now they go in for trade or for battle. And those who come to the RP, very little.
