I mean for something to be Pay To Win and having something behind a Pay Wall it involves spending some REAL money in the game. Nothing is behind a Pay Wall in this game that's for certain and it's not pay to win either. There's no premium currency. There's no packages that you have to pay for.
For all I care if you've worked hard for it and spent lots of credits then you deserve better gear, much like EVERY OTHER GAME

It’s almost as if grinding for something requires you to put time and effort into it. This isn’t true just for Discovery, but life in general - you don’t get to be a manager in a firm instantly or lose all weight in a week. Don’t want to grind? Don’t complain about the people that do. Sure, there are shortcuts (like getting the manager position through connections rather than knowledge) but those are the exception, not the norm.
The only thing I agree with is that kinetics are overpowered, I said it multiple times before that they should have the efficiency of a heavy mortar, not a regular one. It’s by far the easiest change that won’t break anything. No sci data weapon should be overpowered. And sci data isn’t a moneysink, if it wasn’t obvious by now.

An efficiency nerf is a good idea btw, though I had a speed or spread nerf in mind before. It wasn't accepted by the devs, though, I think because altering guns that someone's already spent really a lot of effort to get is a questionable decision.
Spread is causing problems though its basically RNG weapon. One of the projectile hits most of the time even though you try to dodge. Also its very hard to dodge them because it looks like both projectiles missing your ship on your screen.
Kinetics have faster reload speed too. If you want to make it similar to Heavy Mortar, you need to play with Energy/Reloadspeed/Dispersion rate. Don't forget that Kinetic deals %55 less damage to shields and 100K less damage compared to Heavy Mortar.
You all are wrong about kinetics and I will set the record straight. The kinetic does crap shield damage, unlike the mortar and heavy mortar that's good on hull and shield the kinetic is only good on hull. What makes kinetics powerful is auto pulses destroying your shields instantly. How do I know this? Well I have arguably the strongest loadout on my osiris, two auto pulses two kinetics 2 sledge turrets(need one more). The auto pulse damage needs to be slightly nerfed and everything will fall in place smoothly.
Just as the constant increase of entropy is the basic law of the universe, so it is the basic law of life to struggle against entropy. - V. Havel
Autopulses should cost at least twice as much. Think anyone will be angry that the weapon they have is now twice as valuable? As of those who haven't bought them yet, well, how can your finances be damaged if you haven't even bought them yet?
