Did anyone forget that this is all free these days? Just a reminder.
Don't think there are that many projects that are 100% free that are actually this enjoyable and approachable. Not to mention, even with it's age, Freelancer is still an incredibly beautiful game.
What makes me play here?
I mean after all everything is kind of shit between the grinding and the RP drama and I keep leaving, only to return every like what? Six months?
I play this thing so intermittently that my footprint here is invisible.
So, what keeps me playing?
What makes me come back like a puppy every single time?
I'd say:
a) the fact that it's either this kind of RP drama or none at all. I'm big on immersion.
b) the high-quality vanilla-like content, even though it's hidden behind dozens of hours of grinding.
c) the fact that it's the only populated server around, if barely.
So yeah, it's this way or the highway.
Don't take this as an offense. It means this thing's special in its own warped manner.
Dozens of hours of grinding? Come on i started playing 2 weeks ago Again from 0 and i have a nephilim, and i can buy another one if i wanted to. Where's that grinding? I even bought a pair of cloaking devices just for fun.
A cloaked corvo turning all alarms on in the middle of a conflict is hilarious.

If you dedicate your entire days to this, sure.
I can personally make two hundred plus millions in two days but dedicating at least three to five hours a day to this, and I know some pretty dope trading routes.
With 200 millions I can get and I bought a Fearless with low-tier armor but considering the way this thing works you can't possibly be happy until you have a cloaking device and the best CAU.
Stuff that together ends up costing a billion plus credits. In addition to a ship that costs 153 millions.
Think about it: trinkets that together cost more than ten times a capital ship.
Do I have time for this?
Sure, I'm a neet, for the time being at least but God-willing not for long.
But is it pleasant to go back and worth in a predictable pattern?
Not to me.
