I'm hoping this trade event gets prolonged, or at least extended in some capacity. Too few of us could enjoy it and it was very promising, not to mention presumably very profitable...

Is this activity already over? I thought it will last until July 9.
If you're talking about the trading, that part has been completed last night. Hoping it 'll get extended though.

Yes, I very much hope that if it can, I happened to miss this trade.
The Council have attempted to raid Issoudun in hope of crippling it, but failed to achieve their goal and, besides - the strike force got tracked down and followed by Montmorency, which resulted in the current stalemate.
Peace, being the distant dream it is, comes inevitably, and goes hand in hand with justice.
Cursed be the war.
Right now, there is no mention of the trade event having been completed ingame or in the first post. One gets told after shipping the stuff and making a huge loss. Can you change that?

What's the sense to take part here if The Council will lose Toulouse?
I dunno, there's this cool thing called roleplay. It's a story friend, everyone cannot be winning at the same time.
Simple roleplay tends to lose its shine after a while. Actually, things can be set up so that a winner is determined by a siege at least. Would that not also leave an epic story to RP around? Eveyrone's argument is always 'who cares who wins if its not real'. I dont care who wins when it is real, at least stuff happening has a real point and keeps people actually busy.
Events have become more and more pointless (hollow). With the story 100% fixed and outcomes fixed, all you can hope for is to log for a quick cheap kill or make a bit of fast cash. Its all to squash the concept of player driven anything. This is not a sandbox game anymore, its an rp ligh arcade shooter. Events remind me of star conflict.
Absolutely nothing entices me to fixed events, not even easy transport kills. Not even to help out in a supporting role. As the years have gone on, I expected more competition events such as sieges to determine the flow of the wars. Sadly that is now inconcievable as it threatens what seems to be a staff designed space paradise for them.
I honestly dont know why they bother to make changes to the environment at all anymore. I think these changes are a complete waste of time. Changing jumpgates and tradelanes or planets with no real events to correspond is a huge waste of time and opportunity. The same effects could be had by temporarily extending ZOI's.
It has become terribly DRY to try to continue pretending 'such and such station was captured' or destroyed when it wasn't, it was dev'd. The potential exists and always has that headlines here could be 'real' and so could player actions in reponse to them. Keeping everything fixed only kills everyone's ability to really apply themselves and make use of tactics and diplomacy. Killing NEMP's and ignoring those that arent convenient for devtopia is also a sad development. So much could be happening here if players had some real freedom, events would just be happning here again on their own perhaps!
Although its not in the rules, as it applies to GM's, I think Developers should be clearly subject to the same rules. Things are locked down here to suit the development team and I think there should be a separation between those who run the place, operate it, and play it. When staff get to develop AND take a side, it seems like that rule that server Rp/gameplay and administration shouldn't mix is long out the window. Maybe it should just be made more clear that this is a locked (private) server now, not a sandbox game.
