Built in 824 A.S by the Norfolk Shipyard and commissioned into service in 826, the Shenandoah, a Liberty Dreadnought of the Overlord class was intended to serve mainly in the California system pressure Gallic Royal Navy in the region and the front lines. Upon completion, the Battleship was sent to oversee the terraforming operations on Planet California Minor where it held off the presence of Gallic patrols, however upon announcement of Operation Vanguard in Cortez system, Shenandoah was redeployed to orbit of Planet Los Angeles, playing critical role of holding off against Carcassonne's relentless assaults. When destruction of both Betheny and Yukon occured, and most of the fighting shifted from Independent Worlds to New London, Shenandoah was recalled back to Norfolk Shipyard for maintenance - it came as a surprise for new officers onboard the warship, as they felt the fate of Los Angeles citizens was on their shoulders.

With Shenandoah's refits finished at the end of the month, Shenandoah was sent directly to Gallic front line: the New London system. With the Cortez cleansed from the enemy presense, allied supply ships had been given major breathing room, together with oncoming reinforcements. Shenandoah arrived within few days, and it wasn't long before the expected panic-push by Gallia happened, as the Operation Ice Lance has severally deprecated Royal Navy supply lines and ability to combat both Houses. When it was done, the most major victory against Gallic Armada has been struck, and allies went on the offensive for first time in years to re-capture the Leed and save it from the terrible fate that was being perpetrated by GRN. However concern that allies would breach the Leeds via the gate they built and established, Kingdom pulled an ace up their sleeve, and deployed with conjunction of Gallic Royal Intelligence, the Montagne prototype weapon platforms which proceeded gut Battleship Ottawa - flagship of its own Task Force - upon entering Leeds, Shenandoah was second to enter the system, and upon witnessing the Ottawa being destroyed, Shenandoah's Captain immediately ordered the evasive maneuvers which saved it from destruction, and later was found very lucky that the weapon platforms were damaged from firing a second time.

Shenandoah then proceeded to exchange fire with the enemy force but sustaining heavy damage in process, and afterwards, allied forces arrived to clean up remnants of the defense fleet around the jump gate, however all efforts were vain as it was too late, as the infrastructure and Planet itself was laid to ruin by the Gallic orbital weapons. Upon Battleship Norfolk's arrival at Leeds' orbit, Shenandoah was ordered back to the Liberty for repairs. For the short while afterwards, Shenandoah was deployed in Colorado to enhance Liberty anti-piracy presence in the region, but it was not long before the battle-hardened warship were to reinforce the Rio Grande as the Battleship Carcassonne proceeded to retreat against the opposition in face of being outnumbered 4 to 1 against Liberty forces. Fearing that the Enclave warship would terrorize or suicide itself onto Planet Los Angeles and damage the civilian infrastructure, the assembled Task Force was ordered to hunt down the vessel with highest priority, however, it wouldn't be long before the Valor would surrender itself peacefully later the same month to the Alma and Concord following their return from deployment.

With the Gallic threat over in the Liberty and entirety of Sirius, Shenandoah took many objectives which led her to be renowned in Naval circles. Most notable operations which Shenandoah was involved in recent years was the Magellan incident, which saved both the LNS Loyalist, 5th Fleet "Defiant" Gunboat and the LNS Louisiana, Second Fleet "Interdictor" Battlecruiser from being captured by terrorist organization known as Hellfire Legion and year later, it would take part in clearing the Bering system alongside Battleship Concord and her cohort from criminal elements, serving admirably in battles. For good part of the half decade, she was transferred after operation to First Fleet and served it honorably before being transferred back to Second Fleet in 834 under orders of Admiral Robinson.

It is unknown how long Shenandoah will stay in service, however, her reputation as an elite guardian of the Liberty has been noted by many, and it continues to serve the ship and the people who want to live free in freedom and peace in the Sirius sector, and will remain a reminder that there's something monstrous waiting to whoever undermines the people's will and power to choose.
