A patrol in force by the capital ships Dreadnaught and Antarg to Omicron Gamma may have had unexpected repercussions.
An HF dreadnaught was detected moving through the area around Omicron Gamma. In the desire to avoid confrontation with AW in their home system, Omicron Theta was avoided by the patrol and pursuit of HF vessels did not encroach on AW space.
After encountering an HF cruiser, our patrol set off in pursuit. The cruiser was joined by the HF battleship and an AW fighter.
Once again, in the desire to void involving AW, pursuit was broken off and SCRA ships returned to the planet Crete.
Once at Crete, avoidance of the issue became difficult and HF and AW ships opened fire on the Dreadnaught.
After sustaining heavy damage, both the Dreadnaught and HF battleship were knocked out of the fight.
Frigate Antarg broke away from the engagement and proceded out of the system when the Dreadnaught announced an inability to repair damage on short notice.
With the HF battleship expected to be returning to the fight at short notice, a series of running engagements were undertaken. Resupply and hasty repairs were possible at Battleship Fes in Omega 47 during a break in the fighting.
With the AW involved and 3 enemy ships in pursuit, reinforcements were desperately needed.
We proceded to Cambridge system in the hope of finding friendly craft.
Unfortunately no SF or SSO vessels were to be found in the area and local police became hostile after a misfiring missile from the Antarg damaged one of their craft.
With the hope of evening the odds, we set course for Salisbury system. Although the Bretonian Guard are extremely hostile there, it was expected they would be of some assistance.
An engagement in Salisbury ended with no real outcome for either side and the Antarg was eventually able to disengage from battle.
Strangely, during the engagement, no Helghast vessels were sighted, and questions must be asked about Helghast's interest in a war that only involves their allies.
