Subject: Tau Recon
For the Revolution Comrades. Today, I and Sub Lieutenant Alvarez, along with an Order pilot codenamed Pheonix undertook the task you had given to us. Thorough recon of the Taus in the search for finding a good base site to build. We flew all around the Four main Tau systems of 37,23,29 and 31. Here's a system by system report.
Tau 37
This system is a very likely candidate due to the presence of large Asteroids which are suitable for construction. They can be moved. However, Outcast activity is high in the system, so there may be a risk involved. All the same, it is one of the best locations for us to construct, there is an isolated Asteroid field which could be useful.
This system is a bloody mess. War in all directions, and Outcast activity is very high here. There are large rocks presence, but I couldn't find a single rock large enough to hollow a base in. We could use the smaller rocks together to make a base, but that would make the task difficult. Also, the system is very small so it is almost impossible to keep our installation undetected. This system is highly unviable for base construction.
This system is very big. It took us a while to cover this one, and due to it's large size could be useful for construction of a base in a corner. It is also the site of Extensive Kusari movements against Bretonia, and there are no Asteroids of large enough size available, although the smaller Ice Asteroids can be welded together. High Command can consider this site as viable but it will be difficult. We have also located a Jump Hole to Tau 29 located in the system, along with a Hole to NewCastle, Bretonia.
This system is rather quiet considering the Taus as a whole. There are no viable Asteroids here to construct a base, although again, rocks could be welded together. I will leave Superiors to decide here, this system is confusing.
