' Wrote:Thanks, " serving termination warrants" sounded like giving them pieces of paper that say "you're going to be terminated." Much better now.
That is what we do. We turn up in Crete orbit in large numbers. We knock on the mooring fixture. Someone pokes their head out. We give them paper. Lots of paper. Legal looking paper. They know they are in trouble when they see it's an injunction or a subpoena.
Then we drop tactical nukes from orbit, firebomb the major cities and leave the cap off the toothpaste before we leave.
I see this as more loosely organized thing as S/D was. But as loose as it will be it still needs a recruiting thread in my opinion. And more clarification to the organization I think. Otherwise someone just slaps the BHG| on the name and starts blasting.

Aye - I'll be doing that later. Amending the s/d rec thread and also, more importantly, a feedback thread. The collective responsibility is a cornerstone of this.
1) BHG| and Core is pretty self-controlled, i.e. a member decides what it wants to fly and where. And it hints that first people should start as recruits and then move on to bigger things.
I suggest people who want to join up can just register and slap the BHG| tag and then be on probation for x lengths of time (flying fighter/bomber?). During that time if there are no negative rap in the feedback thread full membership would be granted (OR if there was neg feedback during the probation time would be extended or he/she would not be let in). Saves a lot of management hassle. You could say that all who will join the BHG| after 1st of April will have to go through the rookie period. It gives all present now a grace period to sign up.
What could be in the enlisting thread?
- Char name
- screenies of rep sheet, ship, weapons, and ID
Maybe implement a naming scheme like 'BHG|Rookie-Mastah Killah' to help separate the rookies?
Anyone who isn't willing to go through this very easy enlisting process with possible name changes is not worthy of a membership IMO.
Guild Masters could set up a SEPARATE feedback thread just for this probation feedback. People could voice their opinion about the RP of the guy on probation etc. If no serious bad rap comes up guy automatically moves up.
2) Kicking out of Guild. This being an official faction there might become a time to get rid of someone (say he's an total jack's behind what comes to fairplay). I propose Guild Masters vote aye or nay in these cases.
And I agree. I like the idea that BHG| should (is) example driven, aiming for the fairplay and fun for everyone, faction effort with as few rules as possible.

Renaming: Agreeing to a tag was awkward enough but it should be feasible to have a BHG|Rec- tag or something similar. Funny how a few letters changes things. I'll talk to people about a grace period. There will be a recruitment thread and the recruit ID will come into play.
Problems should be dealt with as they arise - part of this organisation is to ensure that a structure is put in place for all the good playing that is done and done regularly - publicise it, reclaim the BHG name and most importantly, get people playing together and remind them that Discovery is a community. The faction is an official faction and shares a collective responsibility to show the highest standard of RP. Everyone involved has sacrificed a lot for this to happen - its chief investment has been many seasoned players' reputations. Anyone signing up knows that or should know that. Mess up and we all look stupid.
The less threads the better. The official feedback thread would probably do for feedback on new additions. Again, as these things arise they can be dealt with. But it's a sound idea for the Guild to monitor (as opposed to regulate or police) itself. Most of the server rules and the changes of recent times should solve many issues arising. However, knowing that you are, in effect, an ambassador for a large and broad group means that we must ensure we play to our best. The best thing players can do is get in-game and lead by example, and this is happening.
