As the dust settled, she took note of what had happened. His tail, her target, never knew what hit him. Cursing her luck for being unprepared, she reminded herself that this happened thanks to pure chance. Propping herself up, she acted like this was another casual event, cleaning the dust and rubble from her uniform. "That was good, Lukas." Suddenly she closed the distance, faster than any human could register, and kicked squarely in his chest, sending him flying through the pod and leaving a footprint indentation on his armor. As he tumbled down, she walked around the pod and kept brushing away the dust from herself. "Good. But I do not need a suit." Keller rose from his fall and seemed to prepare his weapons. Rising her hands in surrender, she smirked. "This little scuffle will attract attention. That we do not need. Not when we are friends, Lukas."
It wasn't clear if he was groaning or growling when he threw himself back to his feet, but he was definitely not happy with the situation. Maybe he should have scanned them for augmentations first before deciding to immediately begin interrogation. "How do you know about Erie and who I am? I don't forget who my friends are, you aren't one of them." A part of him was curious about who that crushed man was, but if he was stupid enough to stand still like that and be flattened then he was inconsequential.
"Knowing Humanity - We will be duty, bloody and unavoidable."
Spinning slowly around, rising her jacket to show she had no weapons, she kept talking. "I know a great deal of many things." Pointing at what remained of the man. "That one was tailing you, I do not know his affiliation. He managed to take a picture with both of us." Putting her hands down and looking around for exits, her eyes finally focused back on Keller. "And I am your friend. My name was Megan Xei." She finished with a wink.
Keller approached the absolute murder scene and ripped the pod out of the ground, after a few moments of heaving. The kick that propelled him through it had loosened it quite a bit and once it was off he searched the man underneath for any devices he might have, intending to destroy any unwarranted evidence of him he might have. "I don't believe in ghosts. Prove it. And if you do manage to do so, maybe you should lead with that next time." The person who tailed them was by all definitions dead, he was akin to machine processed meat, modern art on the concrete, Keller seemed to not be bothered by it and continued searching.
"Knowing Humanity - We will be duty, bloody and unavoidable."
Looking at Keller searching through the pieces of what once was a man, her smirk kept on. As always, business first. "There are ears everywhere. Especially in that square." Pointing at Keller's new target of attention. "Case in point." Walking towards the scene, Keller looked back at her, his hand on a weapon with the silent threat pretty much evident. One move, and he would start blasting. She raised her hand apologetically, and knelt near the scene. Pulling one of the still intact fingers, she dropped it after a quick scan. "SIS." She remarked as she got up. Looking at Keller, her arms crossed, her explanation followed her original trail of thought. "I once told you I am a monster, Lukas. And that monsters cannot be heros. And you warned me that if I ever turned rabid, you would put me down." Her eyes rose up and continued to scan the surroundings.
He mulled over that statement, even though it wasn't visible behind that tin-can of a helmet which he still hadn't elected to streamline the design of. His older suit was perhaps more appropriate for quick movement and even more stylish and he considered if it offered more viability than his current choice. "So it is you." He concluded, finished dealing with the corpse and now focused on this conversation. "I still stand by my word." A grim admission, but at least it was honest and made with a hidden and faint smile.
"Knowing Humanity - We will be duty, bloody and unavoidable."
She smirked at the statement, as she expected nothing else coming from him. "We need to move away from this scene." She reached out for her wrist pad and started to scan the known frequencies. "I was not prepared for this situation, so I am without any kind of backup to zero this." Nodding at him. "Let us find a more secure location?"
It seemed like a great labor for him to not with that thing on his head, but he managed and pointed upward to the Pelican that had jettisoned his equipment on top of the Agent. It would have seemed coincidental but it was entirely deliberate, given that the pod laser guided with the aid of Keller's watch. When he pointed at the man and glared, he was giving him ample warning, they elected to be dumbfounded instead and now they were dead. "I can have it land nearby or tractor beam us up." That watch seemed to integrate with the wrist of the suit, and he clicked away at it with metal fingers while waiting for affirmation or a better suggestion. He was most certainly frustrated by this turn of events but there was no time to dwell on it.
"Knowing Humanity - We will be duty, bloody and unavoidable."
Her wrist-pad beeped and she looked at it. "Do it. A flag to check what's happened just showed up." Without ceremony, she quickly searched the remains of the man and grabbed whatever was left of electronic devices.
Without any further notice three blue beams descended from the ship, one for Wake, once for Keller and then one for the pod, it was still valuable hardware even if broken and there was no sense leaving it there to act as evidence. The corpse on the other hand could stay, it was no factor. The ship immediately made a break for orbit, putting as much distance between the pair and the scene as possible without alternating Keller from the venue of his upcoming wedding.
The interior seemed to suggest that Keller had developed a sense of appreciation for finer things, it wasn't a spartan accommodation as might have been expected of the man he used to be. No, this ship offered a healthy degree of comfort and luxury, as of intended for more than just the transport of himself. His suit spilled off of him like an army of rats, each component finding its place on a mannequin nearby and shutting down thereafter.
Not feeling the need to say anything after a more secure venue had been acquired, Keller instead approached a food dispenser and used it to produce himself a hot beverage, from the smell it seemed like a mint tea of good quality. Patiently, he waited for his apparent friend to initiate conversation while he took a seat near where his suit was stored.
"Knowing Humanity - We will be duty, bloody and unavoidable."
