Agreed. In-system jumpholes should be a must in all massive systems like Hamburg, Honshu, Kyushu, New London, etc.

I still say the core of the problem isn't the number of systems, it's the homogenization of the economy.
When specific trade routes are more valuable than others, people will gather on the most effective path, and will risk pirates for more efficient income. This gives pirates a target, and gives those who'd hunt them something to do as well.
When every trade route is essentially interchangeable, there's no reason to ever take a chance. Unfamiliar name in Omega-3? Might be a Hessian, let's take something through the Sigmas instead.
Saronsen is also right that several systems are just absurdly large, predominantly a holdover from vanilla.
No. Disco was better off having tonns of systems which you could explore or, per se, discover. "Less content = good" doesn't works here.
Omicron Kappa is already a merged system with Omicron-74, Omega-55 is partially merged with Omega-58, Omicron Psi is already a merged system of Omicron-90 and Omicron-99, merging it with Iota would not make any sense due to Nomad Lore, as well as deleting Omicron Major.

No. It was the right choice to cut down unneeded empty filler, but we've cut down enough. I'd say we've already gone too far with Gallia's pruning, we definitely don't need any further reductions.
