I logged on when the server was at its lowest point (about 50 people) which is about two in the morning for me and camped just outside the Sigma 13 Jumphole in Sigma 17. (Where the Gasminer Ogashawa is.)
There were literally patrols of eight or so hawks spawning as fast as I could keep up with them.
It didn't take long at all to drop my Zoner reputation at that breakneck speed. One that was done, it was just a short jaunt down to Corfu and then to Omicron 74 and into the nebula (It was hard to see against the green background nebulae, making the system look empty other than the planet) and through to Sparta and Corinth.
You want to hear about the mines?
THIS IS SPARTA!!
More seriously about the mines?
Don't use cruise, enjoy the ride, relish the view, and double-check which buoy you're heading to.
The combination of mines, Omicron Nebula, and Omicron rocks is about the most brilliant, foreboding, and unsettling thing I have seen yet in terms of field combinations.
P.S. As a note, if you farm Zoners in Pennsylvania and keep grabbing the quad bribes, it's possible to get the Guard IFF after using /droprep. No GMG or Unioneers involved.
Just a quick reminder to up and coming Zoner Guards. The GMG tolerates their allies shooting up their ships, to a point.
To avoid any uncertainties, please observe the following guidelilnes:
1) It helps, when going for a Guard rep, if you are actually carrying a regular Zoner ID in your hold! This helps us to identify friend from foe in most cases. Recruit ID - sure that also helps!
2) Do it in Sigma-19 - the gas fields there have heaps of spawns - all next to a handy central location. it also makes it easy for us to keep an eye on things.
3) Hand over any Guild pilots if asked.
Now most Zoners-in-waiting we come across either know of these guidelines, or are happy to abide by them. Sadly, there have been cases where supposed 'allies' of ours have refused to comply - or even become hostile towards us.
Even worse - players claiming to be Zoner guard-repping, only to go on to be just another pirate or smuggler.
It is this type of action that spoils it for our legitimate 'allies' - and certainly spoils it for us as GMG players!
And you know what - it would be great to see more of our Zoner allies in Guild space - for more than just fixing their reputations...
Shoot depots near FP1 or FP 6. It is fastest way.
Of course it lowers your guard rep also, but slower than zoner rep, and triple bribe fix all. Maybe you have to do it 2 or 3 times, but you don't need to kill allies NPC.
EDIT
Is it necessary to have zoner guard IFF or it is enough to be full green with them?
Because guard IFF makes you red for almost everyone, and it is not so good.

Just full green with them I'm pretty sure
at least... that's what I am
Indeed, getting the Zoners Guard ID has been pestering. I've tried the double bribe and it didn't work, at all, was still stuck at 3 bars left. So now I'm trying GMG missions against Outcasts, and going to report back on that.
I will say, I'll be taking a lengthy break from Discovery when I get this done, I feel like I've been chasing the Holy Grail and Moby Dick at the same time. Interesting input from everyone, just not sure if following any's going to be helpful.
Postmortem: After gunning down around 220 GMG fighters (give or take a dozen), I made way to Corfu and landed the mythical Triple Bribe. After punching out God and flying atop the gas giant Fuji and shouting my victory - I went straght to Corinth through the briar patch and got my ID. So yes, the GMG method is solid. Just make sure no players spot you mowing down GMG patrols like a haywire weed-whacker in the hands of a floracidal gardner.
Peace out, and the Zoners now have a duty-bound and faithful destroyer at their beckon, any Freeport, any convoy.
My honest reaction upon reading the forums, whenever I rarely do. Joe Kucan, he's the man.
