As the only Maquis faction we go with the default Maquis lore, and wanted to build on it with roleplay organically. However, it is true that very few people know what Maquis are in the first place.

Why using copy paster?? Why don't you make your own? Trust me i am on your side but others will put more critics.

We straight up copy pasted these lines from faction infocard on repsheet:
Popular support to the Maquis boomed, as many Gallic citizens throughout Republique and Minarchy territories shared in their radical convictions.
Why? Because paraphrasing the general idea was disputed in lore discussion on discord - as it says they became popular after well, bombing people and civillians. So pretty much to avoid any discussion of power gaming we just put it in word by word from faction infocard.
The remainder is a re-told simplified one-sided history of the faction with added speculation in the end. Why?
1) Maquis is a rarely played faction, the lore is not exactly well-known. There are no active Maqui factions and I don't feel like there's a need to be edgy and re-invent the wheel on past events when the faction story itself will be fresh to a lot of people.
2) The approach will be less about about making a different lore from the Maquis one at start and dictating interactions and gameplay by that, and more about going from the broad general Idea of The Maquis as a baseline, and building on that with player faction specific lore based on interactions and roleplay in-game and on forums
=> This is why we posted without the wide faction information story in the first place, to let the members build the lore themselves. And instead added the history of the NPC faction that transitions to our baseline because of your feedback

Any feedback and advice before we do so is appreciated a month into our existence.
We hope we made the Maquis ID better by the many fix submissions requests, several have been implemented, several are still pending - please post feedback on those as well.
