Compassionate, eloquent, determined and both unwilling to resort to the more radical methods of her comrades and more patriotic than most, the captain of the GG-07 Artio always cut an unlikely figure among Gaians and had her commitment to the cause doubted in several occasions, resulting in a slow advance through the ranks. Suspicion would abate with the onset of the Bretonia-Gallia war, her moderate stance proving useful in the uneasy truce with the lawfuls - but it was only during the desperate days of 825 she would be given command of one of Torshavn's fruits, the destroyer Artio, under the supervision of veteran Guard Sean Winthrop. Though a choice borne of unfavourable circumstances rather than confidence, her service record would prove more than adequate until mid-826, when the vessel disappeared in the Taus after reports of intense fighting. As days stretched into months and with no sign of the destroyer, save for charred sections of armour plating and wrecked sensory arrays, she would be declared MIA with the Artio and presumed dead.
Amy Douglas, Pilot of the 'Grian' escort craft
In more than a few ways akin to her captain, ranging from their relative youth to their moderate stances and idealistic outlook (and the suspicion that came with it), she is a former student of astronomy and engineering at the prestigious Cambridge colleges and a supporter of the Green Front, turning to active Gaian militancy in 824 and serving chiefly in minor roles in various engineering projects. At the onset of the Gallia-Bretonia war and the subsequent calls to arms against the invaders, her very vocal support for co-operation with former enemies saw her petitions to join active service refused until mid-825, as Gallic pressure grew to unsustainable degrees. Assigned to the GG-07 Artio and the supervision of Sean Winthrop, not unlike her captain, her abilities on the field have remained mostly unproven - she had sortied only a few times before the destroyer's stranding, and saw her Chameleon soon cannibalised for emergency repairs.
Sean Winthrop, Executive Officer
Senior to the captain by a good few years and Gaian through and through, he had embraced the cause since its youth with the unwavering conviction and burning zeal only a Leeds man can muster; even excessively so, some say, often bordering on recklessnes and only in part now quelled by his veterancy. Chosen to assist as much as ensure her loyalty, the two have often held diverging counsels on matters and their reactions to the truce have proven emblematic - enthusiastic support on her part and a willingness to openly cooperate with the Armed Forces, and bitter refusal joined to redoubled efforts to keep both Gauls and (temporarily) former foes at bay. Despite, or perhaps because of, their clashing dispositions, over the years and hardships endured they have developed a mutual respect for one another.
Eita Newell, Scientific Officer
Embodying the scholarly spirit of the original Gaians as much as their deep-seated concern for environmental degradation, the young Kusari-born scientist has joined the outlawed group in much the same way as many of his peers - intellectual circles tied to the Green Front, and simple observation of the Bretonian space. Quiet and introspective, timid and nervous, he is far more at ease among astronomical calculations and orbital models than on a warship's bridge. Not that he had a choice in the matter, as Gallia came knocking on Bretonian doors and all able personnel was called into action. Though dismayed at the turn of events and lamenting the circumstances leading to it, he has nevertheless applied himself to his new role and grew into a capable officer.
