Ship Name: RNC-Einbeck Ship Class: "Donau"-class Rheinland Cruiser Manufacturer: Daumann Heavy Construction Place of Construction: Oder Shipyard, New Berlin Commissioned: January 3rd 787 A.S., Oder Shipyard, New Berlin Operational Area: Rheinland, Sigmas Status:Missing
Official Report:
787 - 800 A.S.
As a multitude of rebel and terrorist groups began to appear around Rheinland, the Military became increasingly aware that their current strategy and number of ships they possessed would not give them the much-needed superiority to put an end to their enemies. As such, plans were made and soon after, preparations, to mass-produce capital ships that would give them an edge over both domestic and foreign threats.
Having already built several dozens of the "Donau"-class cruisers, upgrades to the already existing ones were put into action and another order of Donaus was made to Oder Shipyard. Einbeck, along with others, was one of these cruisers, who had the main task of supporting larger vessels such as the Bismarck battleships on the field.
Shortly after being put into active service, Einbeck was dispatched to Frankfurt, as part of the Northern Rheinland Fleet. The following years were quiet, with only a small number of patrols being initiated mainly to counter Hessian and Bundschuh raiders. This would change in the year 797, however, as the RM Command gave new orders to station inside the Westerwald and defend a secret shipyard. By that time, much of the Rheinland Military had been compromised by the Nomads and it began the slow process of war mobilization, with all shipyards receiving orders to produce new capital ships and entire fleet being put into war readiness.
Colony Wars (800-801 A.S.)
Towards the end of 799, the Einbeck was ordered to head to the now-finished shipyard, Schatten, under the pretext of "immediate weaponry upgrades and crew training". The pretext given was merely a cover for what had been planned; the crew soon came under the control of the Nomads and the ship itself upgraded with Nomad technology. These preparations were the last ones made before the entire Northern Fleet of Rheinland was given the order to mobilize and head into Sigma 13. War in the colonies was now only a matter of time.
The fleet marched on into Sigma 13 with little to no resistance, and at the middle of the year 800, entered Honshu. Waiting for them was the Kusari fleet, hastily assembled to defend from this invasion. The upcoming battle was fierce, yet Rheinland prevailed and marched onto New Tokyo itself. At the end of the year 800, much to everyone's surprise, the Nomads were defeated.
The report ends here, as the remaining Rheinland Military forces within Kusari retreated to an unknown location, with all of them being marked as missing and their records cleared. The RNC-Einbeck remains to this day marked as missing in action along with its escorting fighter wing.
While the official report ends there, with the ship disappearing after the invasion of Kusari, the story of the ship and its crew does not. The plans of the invasions were simple - the Nomad-controlled fleet was to invade Kusari and link up with Tekagi's forces with whom they would then crush all resistance. Although at first the invasion was a major success, the activation of the Hypergate by Edison Trent and The Order meant that the Nomads were largely defeated.
The Wild remnants of the Northern Fleet, after uniting with several other groups from Rheinland itself, made an escape into the Omegas, specifically the Omega-55 system. In the system, they began to slowly build a shipyard inside one of the large asteroids to repair the capital ships and snubcraft they had under their command. Construction went as planned, with The Wild even organizing raids upon the convoys that passed through the asteroid field to gather more resources. Yet it became evidently clear that even with all these preparations, The Wild would not have enough strenght to become a dominant force in the Omegas and Rheinland. The solution to this was the "Scorpion"-class Gunboat, a new design centered around lighting-fast attacks upon unsuspecting targets. Einbeck, after receving repairs and several of these gunboats as escorts, was stationed in the vicinity of the shipyard, using the long range scanners to find targets which would subsequently be ambushed by the escorts.
A New Purpose
The Wild made staggering progress in the Omegas with the usage of the Scorpion drones, even going as far as successfully pulling off daring raids into Rheinland's core. Fate would not prefer the Einbeck, however, as during one of the few raids it was assigned to, its engine room was struck by a torpedo hastily fired from an MND bomber. The battle was won, but the Einbeck had to be towed back to Kaarst Drydock for repairs. Seeing as this was an opportunity to upgrade the aging components of the ship with newer, hybrid technology, the warship was instead sent to Altair Research Complex in Omicron Iota.
With the new technology it possessed, the Einbeck was ready once more to cause destruction. It was sent to Omicron Zeta, to act as a base for patrols to base off of in the southern region of the system and as heavy support, should it be necessary. Only time would tell now if the ship will live up to its complicated mission.
Rank: Fregattenkapitän, Aoi Valkyrie Gender: Male Place of Birth: Planet Stuttgart Health: Alive; Health condition unknown
Born in 762 in a family with a long-standing military tradition, he studied to become an officer in the Rheinland Military. Graduated at 18 years of age, he rose quickly through the ranks and despite his unusual aggressiveness on the battlefield he was a succesful commander.
After he received the rank of executive officer for the RNC Einbeck, his ability to lead small-scale attacks aided the Rheinland Military greatly against the growing Unioner and Hessian forces. With the infiltration of the Nomads in 799 AS amongst the Rheinland Military, they aimed for the upper echelons of the military and thus the Einbeck's command structure, and later crew, became one of the many that formed the initial cell of The Wild within Rheinland.
He was sent to Sigma-13 and Honshu during Rheinland's attack on Kusari, however with the defeat of the Nomads, he gathered the remaining crew of other vessels aboard his and set course for Omega-55. The next years were be uneventful at best, with most time spent on Kaarst Drydock for repairs.
Felix Schmidt
Rank: Kapitänleutnant, Aoi Valkyrie Gender: Male Place of Birth: Planet New Berlin Health: Alive; Health condition unknown
Born in a wealthy family, Felix admired the Military from a young age. Having graduated from the Military Academy in 792 as a disciplined commander, he too rose through the ranks quick, much alike Fynn. As the Einbeck was tasked with an increasing number of dangerous tasks by the Military's High Command, they looked to take new people under their unit's banner, and Felix was one of them. During the Nomad War, he served in the invasion of Kusari, however, as with the rest of Einbeck's task group, he has been declared as missing in action.
Sofia Ilse
Rank: Technical Officer, Aoi Valkyrie Gender: Female Place of Birth: Planet Hamburg Health: Alive; Health condition unknown
One of the few female crewmembers of the Einbeck, Sofia was born on Planet Hamburg during a time of frequent Unioner raids. She joined the Military at 20 years of age and became a technical officer several years later. Her first assignment was on a small "Oder"-class Gunboat, yet it became evident that was not the right place for such a skilled officer. As such, in 795, she was assigned to the RNC Einbeck as the ship's technical officer and overseer of the logistical needs of the strike group.
Ludwig Werner
Rank: Agent, MND (covertly part of Aoi Valkyrie) Gender: Male Place of Birth: Planet New Berlin Health: Alive; Healthy
Ludwig was among the small number of MND agents who were sent with the Einbeck into Kusari. His main task was intelligence gathering, one at which he was an expert in. Using the acquired data, much of the Kusari forces could easily be by-passed or encircled. Ludwig's past is not a notable one, as he was born on New Berlin in a destitute family. He joined the MND as an military intelligence agent and assisted many of the Military's forces during and after the Nomad War. Despite serving into the now-missing Einbeck battlegroup, he survived the Great Purge and continued his work as an MND agent. Recently, he was re-assigned from his post in Thuringia to Hamburg, as the Military prepares for future operations in this region.
