calling that reasonable is for me, at the minimum pathetic, what profit will the trader have? but hey ... nothing here surprises me anymore, if this is considered reasonable.

2.5k.
You can ask for the maximum your ship can hold. Simple. I am baffled how some people think 2.5k of a 5ker is too much when there are pirates asking for ~65% of their profits. Drawing the line at a maximum of 50%, be it credits or cargo, is fine.
Players log one ship to pirate you, take 50M, then log off. 50 M for less than 5 mins.
Happens on a hourly basis.
Some people dot their cruisers every other system to hit the same trader multiple times in one route. I think a rule needs to be made where you can't simply log in, pirate and log off.
Or perhaps ban piracy in anything above a gunboat- give a slim chance of getting away. the INRP costs of running a capital class ship wouldn't warrant the "INRP Profit" of running the ship to begin with.

Nonsense. 50M is over the top and is against the rules, unless extorting a Barge. Through the years of playing here, I have not encountered someone who maliciously switches characters to pirate me again.
Either you have the most exaggerated story, most unluckiest encounter or story from decades ago. Either way, anecdotal experience should not be taken as statistical fact that applies to majority of playerbase.

At least because nobody does that. Or if the cargo may give you more than a "reasonable amount": I got pirated during trade event, they specifically demanded the cargo.

I guess it’s somewhat comforting that I’m the only one who experiences this whether I log a 5k or a barge…
