Guten Tag,
It is with great pleasure that I extend this introduction to you. I am Dr. Richard Batsbak, an avid explorer of the cosmos and an astrophysicist from Rheinland. Over the years, my insatiable curiosity has led me to delve into the enigmatic anomalies and jump holes scattered throughout Sirius.
After tireless research and unwavering dedication, I stand at the threshold of a significant achievement. An experiment, nurtured from a concept that has occupied my every waking moment, has flourished into a triumph of ingenuity. This success serves as a testament to the limitless potential that lies within the realm of space exploration.
Considering that I believe this research could be of interest to you, I would like to invite you to witness my experiment without much ado. If you find it intriguing, we can arrange to meet in the Puerto Rico System.
Eagerly awaiting the opportunity to embark on this journey of discovery together.

To establish a comms channel with the offer of being a witness to a scientific breakthrough will not be ignored. My name is Albert McKenzie, Research lead of the Starfliers.
My team on board the Arcturus has always wanted to visit Puerto Rico to study the Brown Dwarf there. In this case, we have something else to attend to as well. Our research vessel shall meet you within the system. Our last cartography pass recorded a shipyard there, is this still the case?
We are very interested to see what you have to show us. Our ship is already charging it's cruise engines.

You're right. The Vieques Shipyard is in this system. But be careful of some of the people aboard that station. Not all of them are on the right side of the law.
You can either check out Sector 4/G before you meet me, or we can meet at the shipyard and then continue together.

We shall meet on Vieques and traverse together from there. If I remember correctly, the eastern side of Puerto Rico almost killed one of our pilots. Better read over our system report before arriving.

I would like to thank you again for allowing me to study the artificial rift you opened.
You mentioned during our time in Puerto Rico that you had to accommodate the elements of the Neutron Star in order to open up the wormhole.
Could you perhaps detail the process you followed in order to successfully create a tear in space? I managed to take a second scan of the rift during a revisit of the system before it collapsed, this means that any new information about it's creation would be within your possession.

It was a pleasure.
In my view, it's crucial in our line of work to exchange ideas and seek advice from others. Regarding the influence of the neutron star during the creation of a rift, I initially wasn't aware myself. However, after analyzing the initial data right after the test began, I concluded that the neutron star acts as a sort of catalyst for the whole process.
Rifts are essentially shifts in space. In natural rifts, the origin is always a gravity anomaly in a specific area. From there, I looked for ways to artificially create them. The simplest and safest method was to use a kind of EMP to generate such a strong gravity for a fraction of a nanosecond that it distorts space. However, for this, I had to build a device that could harness this immense amount of energy and release it almost instantaneously, with minimal loss of time. In short, even the most exotic components could hardly achieve this, and generating such energies took the work of several fusion generators over months just for one attempt.
This is where the neutron star comes to the rescue. Due to the extremely high mass of the neutron star, the space in its immediate vicinity is already so distorted by the extreme gravity that, in combination with the impulse of my device, it's enough to distort space to the extent that a rift forms.
Based on initial assessments, I still believe that this can be achieved without the neutron star as a catalyst.
Currently, I'm looking for distant systems that exhibit a similar anomaly. Omega-41, with its neutron star, would be another option for further testing. Systems like Kepler with its dark matter clouds or Munich with its dark matter storm could also be considered

Having this detailed process will help us with our own observations and studies. We have others we can reach out to for further assistance, as we do not wish to cause an interstellar catastrophe due to a failed attempt. I believe your success was... lucky? As much as I dislike using this term.
Your words have been added into my own report. As it may help us further understand what we must to do achieve similar or better results. Thank you for your time, please do reach out to Med Force Enterprises as that Neutron Star's radiation pulses affected us quite a bit.

I'm sorry for my delayed response, but you can probably imagine that recent events have truly consumed all of my attention.
A blackout affecting nearly, if not all, of the jumpgates in Sirius is something unprecedented. I've received multiple reports of missing ships that were traversing through the jumpgates.
As of now, I can't think of a reason for this blackout. I believe you also saw the message from the Kusari Naval forces.
I cannot say for certain that the new Kishiro technology has nothing to do with this.
However, in my opinion, if my test were the cause, the blackout would have occurred right after the test, not a week later.
But I nearly forgot about the most important matter.
Have you already heard about the new system they've discovered? I believe they're calling it Earhart.
I visited it myself by accident while testing one of my own jumpdrives. A substantial fleet of Kusari, Liberty, Rheinland, and Bretonia warships, along with other security forces, were present.
I can't truly describe how fascinating this system was. From structures I've never seen before, to jumpholes leading to uncharted worlds...
But what realy grabed my attention where multiple old wrecks. Wrecks from ships last seen in Texas before the Dallas accident.
If I can find my way back to this system, I'll certainly take every reading I can. This would be a tremendous opportunity for you to map these uncharted systems.
There's so much work to be done... I'll begin immediately and keep you updated if you wish.

Albert McKenzie, Starfliers To: Richard Batsbak, New Horizon Subject: Earhart
Earhart, yes. We have recently visited this unknown region also. I have to say, that system is not one I will visit many times. Not only have I seen the defense platforms open fire at others, but the wrecks of all those who were lost disturb me greatly. So many lives lost in the name of exploration and discovery. My data is limited, you may have better chances contacting our other members. They are not as... squeemish... as me.
